Something is not right!!

From The Age today.

In a rare instance, Apple Computer's iconic iPod music player surpassed beer drinking as the most "in" thing among undergraduate college students in the US, according to the latest biannual market research study by Student Monitor.

they were probably accounting students
engineering students would have never said that

The Engineering students would have iPods to listen to beer related podcasts :p

Doc

In the absence of an mp3 player (the whole iPod thing seemed to pass me by...), I have jammed my work laptop with beer-related podcasts... It's such a great way to fill in time either at work or the airport etc.

More on topic...I wish the world would stop using US college students as a yardstick for the rest of the world! Since when do college students know how to drink anything other than Coors Light anyway ;)

They should have surveyed trade apprentices

"What's an i pod? ................... Your shout!"

Go the tradies!

Something is not right about this report, or have mainstream US beers become so bland that even college students can't tell them from water any more?

Maybe the surve included some wierd churchey colleges like Brigham Young in Utah? (Mormon run university with a code of conduct that rules out booze or anything else worth doing).

Uni is meant to be about beer, sex and rock'n'roll. If you learn something on the way all the better. :super:  :chug:

Reminds me of the time i saw a dead-thick tradie that kept saying "five cougars thanks" whenever he saw some hot barmaid, and thought it was the funniest thing ever. His workmate had a look on his face like he was holding back from hitting the guy, but anyway.

The smh has an article with some 60 year old RSL cobber looking into a schooner, and then some 17 year old rough haired git with an ipod. Pretty good representation :)

OT - Just noticed the max post length is 1024000 characters - should that get changed?

iPods [don't own one, don't want one] will go the way other fads, BEER will remain.

iPod o'clock just doesn't have the same ring to it!

iPod, therefore iAm (not).

Paraphrased Descartes.
