I was wondering if anyone has been using ph5.2 stabilser sold by Craft Brewer? Have you had success or increased mash efficiencies?

Hey Hydroxyethane,

Welcome to AHB

There are a few of us using it and a quick search should bring up a few threads. One tip thou is to only use 5g (about 1 heaped tea spoon) as opposed to 11g or table spoon they recommend. You only need to use that much if your water is extremely soft or hard.

Cheers
Jye

It does not make that much diff. with Newcastle water. Ph of about 6

SJW, its not the pH of the water thats important but the residual alkalinity. Check out How to Brew chapter 15.
