Hi guys,
I have been scouring the forums for information for a couple of weeks and need some advice, sorry for the long post.

I have been looking around for some second hand equipment in the marketplace here, but nothing has really come up. I basically want to start up a cheap kegging solution.

From what i understand i need :
Keg
Regulator
Tap/Gun
co2 Bottle
Disconnects
Lines

and a fridge to store it in.

The Kegs/Regulators/Taps all seem to be similar priced, is mybeershop.com.au/CNC cupcake world the best place to buy from? they seem to have banners all over the site at the moment, can you arrange pickup?

i was looking at this for a regulator :
http://www.mybeershop.com.au/index.php?mai...;products_id=32

and this for a tap:
http://www.mybeershop.com.au/index.php?mai...;products_id=19 i kind of would prefer a gun though, is there any difference in the pour ? these are the cheapest of the cheap, as the regulator is high pressure, is it worth spending more money on something that wont blow apart? i assume that they all need to meet the Australian standards anyway.

co2 Bottle
I have been looking around online for a co2 bottle and liked the look of keg king, they wholesale to beerspirtsdirect(ebay store) who sell there co2 bottles for $150 but upon contact of keg king, they cant sell for that price or come close to that price for some reason and i would prefer to pick it up as shipping it is an extra $25 or so. does anyone know of a cheap place to get the 2.6kg bottles (for around $150) everywhere seems to be $200

Disconnects

Im assuming the cornelius is kind of the standard? any reason to choose other options?

Thanks for your help in advance and sorry again for the long post.

if you in melbourne give SUPAGAS a ring ask for price for 6KG bottle..you can always get a Bronco Dispense tap
, just add some beerline and a disconnect. Perfect for Partykeg systems, or for those starting out on a budget.
7.95

Mate look on eBay that's where I got mine. 400 bucks for fridge 4 cornie kegs, tap & lines , drip tray and extras. My co2 I hire from gas supplier and it's lasted me the whole year without refilling.

i have just two words of advice....

John and Guest.

use only John Guest fittings on all of your connections. i started with the cheaper barb style but have now forked out a lot more to convert to JG fittings. they are sooooooo much easier and cleaner and flexible to use.

Also if you can find a CO2 fire extinguisher they are really good as cylinders. and on this does anyone know of a homebrew (aka cheap) friendly fire extinguisher supplier(adelaide) who may be able to hook me up with a 2nd bottle?

Hi,

Does anyone know where in Perth I would get a regulator, beer tap and gas??? I got a 50L keg. Thanks for your help.

I've been looking over here, Perth, for the last couple of weeks and ended up going for an on line deal from a mob called kegsonline. It just arrived today after ordering on Thursday night.

Otherwise the bigger brew shops like http://www.westbrew.com.au/subcatDisplay/Keg+Gear will sort you. But you will pay a fair bit extra.
