Hi Guys,

Anyone else noticed that all of the mash volume conversions from US quarts per pound to litres per kilogram are wrong in Randy Mosher's Radical Brewing? For example, the book says 1.5 quarts per pound == 0.64 L/Kg (that's a pretty stiff mash!!!! ;) ) instead of 3.12 L/Kg... It's not just a one-off. All of these types of conversions throughout the entire book are wrong.

I think I'll send Randy an email just in case noone else has given him a heads-up....

Cheers,
Michael.

I think he knows there are a number of errors in that (great) book. Have a read of the errata page here.

Make sure you double check all figures in that book before using the recipes etc. :(

It suprises me how often there are errors in BYO and Zymurgy too. I doubt they actually check the recipes and just go by the submitted conversions.

Even last years Big Brew Day, the recipes had incorrect conversions. A short email and they were sorted within a few days though.
