    M54 California Lager Yeast

Well, I'm drinking the lager and it's lost the banana aroma but I'm still finding the Fresh Wort Kits mainly all tasting much the same.

    PET Bottles

I only get the odd PET bottle that doesn't carbonate. As livo said, they last for years but need tightening fairly firmly.

It must take a few years for taste detectable traces to emerge then.

    Fresh Wort Kit

Just relating to FWKs (All In Brewing), I've been brewing them for a while but found that they all seem to taste the same, or very similar. Anyone else found this? I'm going back to extract brewing.

    Cleaning Pet Bottles

As soon as you empty bottle, rinse out and add a teaspoon of bleach, fill with water and soak overnight. Next morning rinse thoroughly and hang on bottle tree.

    M54 California Lager Yeast

Yes, it is a lager after all. I'm fermenting it at 18C and it's ready to bottle. I usually leave the bottles for a month so it could disappear. Anyway, if it tastes okay it won't matter. This is my first "pseudo" lager attempt.

    M54 California Lager Yeast

Hi Brewers, I'm using an M54 California Lager Yeast for a fresh word lager kit and it's giving off a banana aroma during fermentation? Is this normal with this yeast?

    Ferment lager with ale yeast?

Can you use an ale yeast and ferment a lager (fresh wort kit) at 18deg?

    Lager

If you mean by "lager" it, did I ferment it at 12C for a couple of weeks until all activity stopped, yes I did.

    Lager

After a lager has fermented out and bottled, can I just store it in a cupboard at room temperature?

    Strainer too small

I have a strainer that's too small to sit across the top of the fermenter so I tie 2 pieces of dowel to it so I can use 2 hands to tip up the pot.
