    Hop Bursting Mid advice

This looks great. Was this a mash around 67' and a 90min boil? What was your batch size? I'll order both recipes as I usually buy recipes in pairs. That will get me through a few months. Cheers.

Just about to order one similar to this - did you dry hop at all? Cheers.

    AG advice & stainless fermenter

I will give this a run next time around. I usually leave in primary for 7-10 days, I then move to a secondary for 4- 6 days and dry-hop. When this is done I force carbonate for 36-48hrs and then consume. I might try for 2 weeks in the primary this time around. Is this recommended for ales? All...

Just revisiting my old thread re: slightly off smell/tasting beer. I've just cracked a few stubbies I always stash away that are now 4 weeks old - same batch as I was getting the off flavour with but the bottled beer is fine. My kegs stay super clean and I'm now wondering should I be...

    Hop Bursting Mid advice

Thanks fro all the tips people. I'm definitely going to give this one a go. This one looks OK also - not sure if pellets will upset the balance though? http://brewgr.com/recipe/7966/dead-pony-club-clone-recipe I'm yet to fully understand the balance and prob won't until I start brewing some...

    Hop Bursting Mid advice

Howdy folks, I’m a new AG brewer and just about to keg and gas my 3rd AG batch. After attempting some stronger/higher ABV APA’s and IPA’s I’m looking to do something a little tamer. The 5.5-7.5% ABV’s are great over winter but during summer I like to drink more with lower ABV. Basically I’m...

Thanks mate - is there a particular brand of cleaner to use on stainless?

    AG advice & stainless fermenter

Thanks for the responses guys. It’s frustrating because I know the recipes and beers themselves are great but there is always this underlying annoying smell/taste. After 2-3 beers you don’t really notice it but the first glass after a few days you definitely do. You smell it raising your glass...

Cheers - looks like I have a problem here too. I'll definitely start cleaning AND sanitising. I've only once had a fully infected batch but maybe some infection is still lingering. Is pink stain still recommended for cleaning? What are the local Oz sanitising alternatives for Starsan? Cheers!

Thanks mate i'll give the other yeasts a go and see if this helps.

You may be right - my sanitising could be described as lazy or over the top. I basically rinse each vessel/keg with water then half full them with hot water and pink stain (a few tbl spoons) and let them soak until required (could be days or weeks). Just before I use them I'll empty the liquid...

I nearly exclusively use US-05 as I love American Ales. I've even started using two sachets of late for 1045 OG+ ales. So you may well be right. Is wyeast 1056 the best alternative for US05? I will give this a try. I do agree that stainless is the go, if anything, easier to clean. I also...

    AG advice & stainless fermenter

Howdy folks, First post - I'm new to AG brewing and have just completed my third batch. I'm using a basic false bottom cooler mash-tun/kettle system and cube/no chill. My question regards taste, plastic and stainless. When I moved to AG I was aiming to brew better, cleaner tasting beers that...

    first all grain.biab recipe please!

Hi all, Sorry for hijacking this thread - let me know if there is a more appropriate thread. I'm just about to start my first all grain brew (something hoppy like an APA, Session IPA etc). I'm looking to use/order with BrewBuilder and will be using a 37.8L Rubbermaid Mash Tun & Boil Kettle...
