How long to force carb: The calculator

As a terrible brewer who only just kegged a beer for the first time a couple of weeks ago this is incredibly helpful.

    Red Rye IPA

Pretty sure it was Joe White Crystal which google is showing me 120-270 EBC I think we were mainly just worried that the only thing a lager yeast would add to a beer like this is under attenuation. As in it doesn't really bring anything really beneficial to the beer itself. That being said it...

    Red Rye IPA

I was fortunate enough to be involved on a collaboration brew with Brendan from Brisbane Brewing Co. and The Scratch Bar for their Arrested Development art show last weekend. I came up with a recipe for a red rye IPA but we decided to pitch a lager yeast to fit the beer's name of Ry've Made A...

    Milo Breakfast Stout

I cracked a couple of bottles of this on the weekend. The first was infected which was fairly unpleasant. I didn't have enough newer bottles to go around so I had to bottle a few in bottles that I've had for a couple of years so I think it's time they were retired. in any event, the second...

    Akasha Brewing Co.

Update on the triple IPA. If you spot it somewhere I highly recommend making the trip to grab some. It's incredible. It's wonderfully dry and drinkable for a 10% 150IBU beer. Pretty masterful brewing really.

Dedicated Grainfather Guide, Problems and Solutions Thread

Anyone had any issues with the original controller? Mine read 23 when I started heating up the mash water and only made it's way up to 26 when my thermometer is reading 66.

    Akasha Brewing Co.

Friends, I sat down with Dave Padden, formally of Riverside and now at Akasha Brewing over a couple of beers and asking him a whole bunch of questions about brewing etc. http://www.brewedcrudeandbitter.com/blog/2016/4/6/brewed-crude-interviews-vol-one-dave-padden-akasha-brewing-company I wish...

    Milo Breakfast Stout

Only managed to get around to bottling it a couple of weeks ago so I'm tempted to open a bottle this weekend to see how it is. Initially it was very bitter and had a relatively unpleasant oily mouthfeel but just before bottling it seemed to have mellowed out significantly and seemed fine. i...

    Milo Breakfast Stout

Well it was an absolute ******* nightmare but I managed to brew this monstrosity yesterday. I didn't grind up the cereal thinking that the sparge was going to be bad enough as it is and I thought the cereal would just disintegrate anyway (and it sure did). The sparge was horrific. I ended up...

    Milo Breakfast Stout

I've got a grainfather and although I haven't had any sparging issues before I've never brewed anything like this. I'm pretty sold on the Milo cereal even though I doubt the flavour will come through very much given that this beer looks to be pretty big already.

    Milo Breakfast Stout

This recipe is around 25% oats. I feel like that's going to cause me a bit of grief for sparging...

    Milo Breakfast Stout

I also found this article: https://byo.com/stories/issue/item/484-confessions-of-a-cereal-brewer I think I should be ok without an initial boiling step of the cereal given that it's mostly wheat and I'm fairly confident that whatever processing the corn portion of the cereal has been though...

    Milo Breakfast Stout

I've been challenged by a friend to brew a beer using a breakfast cereal. Now I know plenty of people have used Coco Pops and Weet Bix so I was thinking of trying something that I'm not sure I've seen anyone use before, Milo Cereal. The ingredients are as follows: Wholegrain Cereals (53%)...

    Newstead Brewing Company - Brisbane

They're just about to release the 4th of the collaboration kettle soured beers with Gavin Croft of Croft Brewing which is a Mango sour. Mark Howes and Newstead are at the core of the beer scene in Brisbane and provide massive support to a lot of people.

    Kegging Setups

Has anyone got any recommendations for places selling kegerators in Sydney? I've got a quote for a full kegerator set up with 3 kegs etc and it seems way more expensive than I thought ($1700) and I'm looking at alternatives.

    Raspberry and Coconut Wheat

Colour has come out quite nicely. It still had a fairly strong toasty flavour thanks to the overcooked coconut so it'll be interesting to see how it goes in the bottle.

    Kegging Setups

Well to be honest I've only moved to Sydney quite recently and I've got almost no one to drink with so I'll probably be the only one drinking the beer. I'm thinking I might as well have 2 kegs on the go for some variety but I definitely won't need more than that for the time being.
