    Who Is An Engineer...

One of my former direct reports, a Geotechnical Engineer (I'm a Mining Engineer) would say the darnedest things. Including: "On the Mohr's scale of hardness, how crispy was the bacon?" "How can anyone remember 500 people? I can't even remember all of the elements in the periodic table, and...

May be a rough workaround and not an ideal solution, but maybe a quick and easy solution if the error is consistent would be to fill to the correct mark in your kettle, note what it says on the flow meter, and then just set the flow meter to this next time. Obviously not ideal, but if all...

https://www.kegland.com.au/kl16452.html https://www.kegland.com.au/stainless-reducing-bush-1-2inch-x-1-4inch-908.html The name in the link above is wrong, that actually links to 1/2 to 3/4in which is what you would need. These two parts should work for your suggested application.

Kegland don't seem to sell them but prettymuch every LHBS has a ball lock style picnic tap. Alternatively you could get a ball lock disconnect with push in MFL fitting and an 8mm duotight ball lock valve. https://www.kegland.com.au/duotight-8mm-5-16-ball-valve-shut-off-valve.html

    Improve my Slow Cooked Brisket

I'm pretty tempted, there's a lot to be said for the set and forget convenience. Don't have to hang around all day monitoring the temperatures and adjusting the vents.

In other news the Weber brand Traeger that just came out looks like it is a bit more diverse. Gets a bit hotter than the Traeger. "Searing" mode is 315 C. High temp error on Traeger is 288 C I think.

We have our own water treatment plant on site and the pH swings wildly. Was 6 pH a month ago, next brew, the one we just did, it...

Anyway what I do to speed this up is have a pyrex dish stored in the freezer. I put a small amount of wort in the dish and the thermal mass of the dish helps cool it down quickly.

I've got your digital pH meter and I've been stuffing around cooling the mash down to measure the pH to try and protect the probe / calibration etc. Really it's mainly to protect the calibration - and I don't know if this is a legitimate concern? I know I really shouldn't have to do this as it...
