    All Grain Ginger Beer

I added it at the request of the bride, she cited the health benefits! absolutely healthy at 6%!! It just adds another dimension to the flavours. I should add that I used a fermenter that I keep for these kind of beers as it does stain them a nice yellow colour!

    All Grain Ginger Beer

I made this recipe a while ago and it was awesome. I was at our local farmers market on the weekend and ginger was $10kg so I got a Kg and am going to make this again. I kegged it and force carbed it as if it was a "beer" and was sensational. The wife loved it too! OSB Lemgineric Ale (Spice...

    Opps! Over gassed the keg.

Just to let you all know, I tried the You Tube method of "gassing" through the liquid post as per the video. I did it 4 times, letting the keg settle for a few minutes between each go, and it works!!!!! Took about 35 minutes in all and she pours like a champion. Thanks to all for the help. Cheers

    Opps! Over gassed the keg.

Doofus me forgot to set the alarm to remind me to take the gas off the keg. I have been force carbonating my beers for ever and have never before done this! My usual is 40PSI for 36 hours in my 19lt cornie and it is perfect for my beers. It copped an extra 12 hrs of CO2 and is just like a foam...

    Conical fermenter conversion kit

I used a conical bottom 30 lt tank from Rotomold in WA. Here is the thread on what I did. http://aussiehomebrewer.com/topic/72107-my-conical-fermenter/ It works fantastic! Once it is sealed and yeast pitched, the wort does never see any "air". Right through to filling the kegs! I have put an...

Filtered beers have a distinct flavour/character

I have seen the "water" type filters for beer and have contemplated purchasing one. My question is how would you clean it once beer has been run through it? I am thinking it would be near impossible and any residue would go off and stin k. Cheers
