    A Quick And Easy Starter

I'm not sure what the general consensus is around here for making yeast starters or how you do it, but I thought I'd share a method that a friend and I have been using for a while. It involves a microwave, some DME, and a few mason jars. Oh, and please forgive the imperial measurements... it's...

That's a great idea Joel, I definitely think people would like to see ideas that didn't work out. What can we call the section? Hmmm.

It's not a tangent, you are just offering feedback. That's how i see it. I was aware of the origins of BIAB and I certainly appreciate that you guys developed it, otherwise I probably wouldn't be brewing AG because I want a process that is as efficient and simple as possible. I'll read...

Thanks fellas, I'm traveling and on a VERY slow connection--prob messed up my link. I think it's fixed now. Ya, I have a few of those where I took no pics of the build as well. Even if you have a finished picture and can describe what you did a little bit, it may help someone else get...

    Diy Projects

Hey all, Our site BrewGeeks has been up for a couple of months now and although the blog is rolling along nicely, we are always looking for more Do It Yourself projects to post. If you have a project that is written up with pics, please send me a link because I'd love to add it. We are working...

A Biab Brewday With Lots Of Pictures

Sure.. this is the one I bought--It's 100 micron for $18. http://www.walmart.com/ip/Camco-Water-Filt...h-Hose/14504321 It's simple to use and will run black for a few seconds the very first time you use it, then you're ready to go. Water tastes great and I think the PH was around 5 when I...

Thanks Truman.. My wife has been calling me one for a while so I figured I may as well make a site about it!

A Biab Brewday With Lots Of Pictures

yeah, since I've been using the tray, I don't get any down the sides of the kettle any more. Works great...definitely the best change I've made to my process in a while. It does help to have an extra person to slide the tray into place though, especially for large grain bills. I love brewcat...

HAHA probably a little bit of both! I just figure that after the whirlpool settles, filling one entire carboy from the bottom of the kettle and then another with the rest may not distribute everything evenly. I'm probably over thinking it.

A Biab Brewday With Lots Of Pictures

Hey Aussie friends.. here are some pictures linked below of my 10 gallon BIAB process if you want to check it out. Sorry I dont have all of the metric conversions in there yet. I recently moved to doing 10 gallon batches and I knew it would increase the amount of beer that we have available...

For any of you with kegging setups, we posted a guide to making carbonator caps. I still need to update a few metric values though. http://www.brewgeeks.com/diy-carbonator-cap.html

That is a tough one.. I see what you mean now. I know you don't want to waste any extract since the purpose is to make use of the old cans, but you may just need to experiment a little and take gravity readings until you know what you're dealing with. btw, I feel so stupid asking this but I'm...

Thanks Hando.. Sorry about the imperial measurements. I want to have both listed to make it easy but as a typical dumb american, I didn't even think about it until someone mentioned it earlier. I thought I got most (if not all) of them in the Making Starters post. The BIAB post has a pretty...

    Launching Brewgeeks

Hey iralosavic, I don't think it would matter if you still use 80 grams in a pint of water for your pressure cooker and then added another pint at the time you make the starter. It will bring it right back to the gravity we are looking for--just make sure the water you add is sterile. You're...
