I'm using an old bbq regulator 2.8kPa -- 1.5Kg/hr Hmm, the pressure couldn't be too high surely.. as it's a yellow weak flame. too low if anything i would think. Is my reg sufficient to do the job? All research I've done has lead me to think that the this reg should be fine.

I know it's an old thread, but I've just seen those 'splashguards' at Kmart for $3 and it says on the pack that it is stainless steel. You'd have to saw the handle off, and raise it off the bottom of the pot a little somehow though. $3 is pretty good though for stainless steel. //Graham

Would it be fine to simply run a hose to the burner, or do i need a metal pipe (as shown in the picture) so the hose doesn't get too hot?
