    First Kegerator Pour

I've carbed that long at higher temps without overcarbing, so that doesn't seem likely to be the problem. I'd suspect your lines are too long, but you said you have a flow control tap. Keg King have some tips here.

    Refilling SodaStream CO2 cylinders

I think I can see why they changed that. In an case, I've taken some steps. I've ordered 4 KL cylinders, b/c at $22, they're only $3 more than a SS refill. And I ordered a transfer hose from eBay, in the vague hope that it'll work with All the SS bottles. Will report back after I get the new...

    Refilling SodaStream CO2 cylinders

No, really. It's a bleed valve. It even says so on the page I linked... It's not uncommon for fittings, and especially transfer hoses to have their own bleed valves, for the same reason that regulators have built in PRVs. And that valve should be fully shut for most of the time, or it will...

    Refilling SodaStream CO2 cylinders

That? That's just the bleed valve. It's used to release the pressure in the adapter if you're too wussy to just unscrew the SS cylinder and face the tiny pent-up force within.

    Refilling SodaStream CO2 cylinders

I definitely do not have a knurled knob on mine. According to Kee, the pressure from the donor cylinder is supposed to open it.

Thanks, BC2K. Thanks for the advice. I did try it, but still nada, I'm afraid.

    Refilling SodaStream CO2 cylinders

You mean to tell me there's a pin in your adapter? Mine doesn't have that, and I was frankly a little surprised to note that, but as I say, it used to work, if only intermittently. This is the adapter I bought from Kegland.

    Refilling SodaStream CO2 cylinders

I posted this to the Kegland thread, which I now realise was the wrong place, hence the new thread. I have a question relating to the Kegland Sodastream bottle adapter. I bought one of these a couple of years back, and used it to refill bottles for neighbours and family. I used to get the odd...

    KegLand Questions and Answers

I have a question relating to the Kegland Sodastream bottle adapter. I bought one of these a couple of years back, and use it to refill bottles for neighbours and family. I used to get the odd failure - some bottle just wouldn't have a bar (see what I did there?) of it. But overall, I was...

Grainfather rolled mash plates (community service announcement)

No story is complete without a beginning... I started brewing during the lockdowns in October 2020, and I invested in decent gear to try to ensure a good result. Grainfather G30 and conical fermenter. I was getting good results brewing purely IPAs and NEIPAs, because that's my jam, Before too...

You'll need to be more specific. There are so many Lukes. Just finished a software development cycle in which I was paired with a young lady named Lea, so I'm getting a kick.

Dedicated Grainfather Guide, Problems and Solutions Thread

Sorry Darren. I just assumed you would have gloves, but they're not absolutely essential, I think. Just wash your arm carefully with soap, rinse it thoroughly and then douse it well with brewing sanitiser (StarSan or similar). Shake it off (don't wipe with a towel), and get in there. If...

It seems to me that it wouldn't be all that hard to fix. Are you planning to dry hop? Just sanitise a brewing glove and reach in to install the stem. Even if you're not dry hopping, you can still do this, but preferably while it's still actively fermenting, so the CO2 displaces any O2 that gets...

The Order of Yoni - Vagina Beer!

I recently made an IPA with Vic Secret hops. I called it "Victoria's Secretion". 😎

Heh. I grew up in North Curl Curl, and went to Manly Boys' High, many long years ago, so I'm getting a kick. In Melbourne these days.

    Brewzilla 35l Gen 4

DA? That's a blast from the past. It was my father's favourite drop, and I recall it fairly fondly. Given some of the other crap beers that was around at the time (KN, Toohey's drought [yes that spelling is deliberate]), it was very palatable.

How much gas left in tank?

I refill Sodastream bottles for family and friends all the time, and I found this Kegland Youtube video very helpful. Featuring the much maligned Kee... Things to note: Weigh the Sodastream cylinder before and after, so you know how good a fill you're getting. Freeze the recipient cylinder...

    Best base fridge for kegerator

I jumped straight in and bought a Series X from KegLand when I decided to graduate to kegs and honestly, I regret that now. The thing about the lines? So much harder to organise in that cramped space above the kegs. A keezer would be much simpler for access.
