    Off the shelf AG systems

Gee I have a good wife. I went to the LHBS and came home with a G30, a conical fermenter and the sparge heater, bags of grain etc and her reaction? “Awesome can I help”. First brew in over a decade going down today, wish me luck!

    Keg Infection

I once had a persistent keg infection. It turned out to be a growth inside the CO2 regulator.

    Off the shelf AG systems

Thanks @hezzer . TBH I reckon if I can fill a 9L Corny, I'd be happy. Gone are the days where I could go through a 19L corny in a week, these days I'm a more "select" drinker. I'd rather 3 smaller kegs of different styles than two of the same. I didn't think budget was really an issue until I...

    Off the shelf AG systems

Thanks All.. more thinking / research time is needed it seems. If anything, I was leaning towards as compact a system as I can. I also want to minimise modifications to make reliable and easy to use. I hate to think how much i used to stuff around (and spend) endlessly modifying my gear. I'd...

    Off the shelf AG systems

So.. am I wrong in saying the Guten is pretty much the same thing for half the price? Obviously it uses an immersion chiller rather than a CFWC, and the programming is manual rather than via an App, but what else is different? I've seen in the Guten thread someone upgraded it with a SmartPID...

    Off the shelf AG systems

Hi Guys, I'm just getting back into brewing. Previously I had a home-built AG setup, this time I'm leaning towards something pre-built. I doubt I have intentions of highly complicated multi-step mashes any time soon, so have been looking at single vessel systems, although I'm not wedded to...

    Back to the fold

Well. in 2008 I sold all my AG gear on AHB. I was unhealthy and overweight, going through a "divorce" and decided that having hundreds of litres of beer on tap was just not going to lead to a better lifestyle so I sold it all and gave up brewing. (The Big Sale In Brisbane | Australia & New...

    Death by Homebrew

You beat me to it. Breathing 100% pure oxygen (accelerated decompression diving) has certainly never caused me to stop breathing yet :-) CO2 has certainly tried to kill me though! Back to the original story, i'd be curious to eventually find out how much of this grappa they consumed.

Wow. Someone got a bargain! I just popped back in to look around, lucky it's not for sale as I would have bought it! I so miss AG brewing, but just too hard in a bloody apartment in Melbourne!

Can You Clean A Co2 Reg (lancer Pacific)

So i ruined on reg by having beer go through it, and i didn't do anythign about it. Months later i kept getting infections... anyway opened it up and it was full of mould and crap, so i threw it. I was distraught when months later i managed to do it to my new reg one night after a few too many...

OK, so apart from the March Pump which appears to have gone missing on the way to reg, everything has gone EXCEPT 1x Hahn flooded font with pump for "bubble" action on the front, and the power supply for the light $50 pickup only Picture on the front page (oh, and i'm off on a sales...

    The Big Sale In Brisbane

Sorry to everyone I haven't replied to... this week has turned into a bit of a nightmare (filling in for 3 people at work who have resigned) and as such i don't /haven't / won't have time this week to "process" any more sales. I'll try to get back to everyone over the weekend. Cheers

    The Big Sale In Brisbane

Oh, and before anyone else asks, i am not shipping the CFWC. It's definately pickup only. It's far too bulky and heavy to ship cost effectively.
