Excellent article Tony, I've always add the whole smack pack in the starter, built it up and vialed off at the end of propergation prior to pitching. Have never thought of vialing off straight out of the smack pack before building the starter. Will have to give it a go with a couple of smack...
Just used US-05 for the first time. used it in a in a Single Hop Citra APA and it worked great had no issue with stripping of hop character. Hop additions were at 60, 20, & 0 minutes for 40-45 IBU

had a de-snobbery moment in Cootamundra where I tried Resch Pils, Toohey's Red and Old. I quite enjoyed both the Red and Old and now would call them my choice swill beers, if only I could get them in SA unfortunately we only get TEDs and New here

I use a upright freezer as a ferment fridge, it has shelves with intergrated cooling in them. I've readjusted the shelves by bending them to fit 2 fermenters it. I've also used it for kegs to where I have bent shelves all th way back to the wall and cable tied it i place. Then rebent them back...
