    New Little Creatures Single Batch

Im just getting into one now.... Lovely aroma, dark fruits and spice with hints of alcohol. Taste is very assertive at first, plenty of spice in there, sweetness hints of booze, pretty well hidden though, probably exacerbated by some yeast phenols and/or esters? More i sip the better it gets...

Just found some as well, $7.50... Splashed out and got 4, might hide 2 away somewhere. Have to wait a while for the first sample they were in a very very cold fridge.

    New Little Creatures Single Batch

That stockist map is really starting to **** me! Last couple of single batches i have ventured to dotted places and they look at me like i am speaking Japanese! Went to a couple yesterday same thing... Now that they are going to have all the extra Japanese financial backing, they could send out...

    Biab Fly Sparge

I have to agree with the above. Having done the simple original BIAB and many variations and now moved onto using a copper manifold if i was going to show anyone BIAB to start out AG it would be in it simplest form. Heat all required water with bag - add grain - mash - lift bag and let drain - boil

    Northern Brewer Hops

I think it will be fine...should give you a reasonable idea what the hop does for you, live and learn or drink while living. I find it a really soft bittering hop so don't be surprised if you don't perceive it as very bitter.

    Northern Brewer Hops

Depends on your actial grain bill and what yeast your using. I love German NB in Cali Common type beers with WY2112 they work well together for sure. I just brewed one yesterday, did 1.5g/L at 10min and 2g/L at flame out fairly complex grain bill to back it up though.

    Whats In The Glass (commercial)

I drank one the other week at cellar temps and found it uninspiring. Found it cloying toward the end, definitely needs a touch more bitterness, still a nice beer in its own right and no major faults, its similar to a lot of irish red type beers i had while over that way.

    Whats In The Glass (commercial)

Yes time place can make a big difference....when you get to Belgium go and do their brewery tour you will love it, i loved all their beers i got to try after, kriek, framboise, geuze and a straight up lambic. if i had a spare suitcase i would have filled it!

How Hard Do You Find It To Convert Megaswillers

Life is easier when you realise people will do what they want, like or are conditioned to like. Some just don't know anything else and that's the way they like it and that's the way they will stay. All you can do is do what you do, offer the option and if people are interested they will want to...

    Top 10 Yeasts

In no particular order.... Wyeast 1272 - So versatile as a house yeast 2112 - Cant go past this for a Cali common - up there for my favourite beer 1469 - Another lover of this yeast, really is a star performer, can be fermented at 16 - 17 with large pitch for lower ester development, let rise...

    Sierra Navada Pale Ale

It would be a fun experiment to put a case of home brew through the trials and tribulations that SNPA goes through before it sees a shelf at Dans and see what pops out the other side..... :o I don't reckon there would be to many or any that would not be gushing like a..........

Mash And Water Ph Adjustment: 'traditional' Water Profiles?

Start with rain water that is as good as pure distilled water for me - yes it probably has some very low ionic concentration but its as good as nothing in my books, it makes crap coffee and does not quench thirst(goes straight through you) so i supplement with mineral water or weak powerade. I...

    Taste Bude Ruined

Yep you can actually ruin your taste buds by continually drinking highly hopped and bittered beers. Personally I still like to be able to to appreciate "bland" or more subtle flavoured beers, which i think can be far more complex. I find sparkling mineral water good for cleansing the palate...

No Chill - Possible Airborne Yeast?

I regularly no chill 10 -12L. The Willow 10L jerry is ideal, got mine from bigW. With 12L in it you don't have to do much squeezing if at all.
