In YOUR opinion, sure. Others beg to differ. http://www.ratebeer.com/beer/sierra-nevada...eweizen/100383/ http://beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/140/48434

Basic All Grain Recipe Help Please

First thing is, it's not an All Grain recipe. Why are you adding extract? Just add some spec malts and more base malt....?

My Own Mini Craft Beer Festival For Xmas

All Sierra Nevada beers are great. Just get the style you like the most. Splurge on some nice belgians (chimay, duvel etc) and some german hefe's.

    Loss Of Pressure

Drink beer. If beer is not carbed enough, carb it some more. No need to overcomplicate things. I doubt it will have gone too flat.

    Sodium Perc - Bulk Buy

Anyone round the Carlton/Brunswick area, let me know if you want a smaller quantity of this. I sure as hell don't need my half bag all to myself...

    Filtering - The Real Cost?

An update on this. For those considering filtering for the reasons I was hypothesising - do it. My entire keg is now drinkable, and is good from Day 1. No more waiting around for the yeast to drop, and I have to assume there will be no trubby glass at the end of the keg either. It's upped my...

    Whats Your House Beer?

I've done the G+G FWK Hefe a lot so far. It's not my favourite, but it's really easy to make a good hefe using 3068. That yeast is like magic. I can see myself making a lot of smurtos landlord and ross's nelson sauvin summer ale in the future. Both are drinking extremely well. Enjoying drinking...

    RecipeDB - DrSmurto's Landlord

One thing comes to mind. Anyone try dry hopping some Styrian in the keg/cask for this beer?

    RecipeDB - DrSmurto's Landlord

Just having my first sips of my keg of this. Good grief it's good. My 3rd AG beer, and it's absolutely gorgeous. Got a pint of the real deal at the moment and to be honest, I almost prefer mine. It tastes fresher. The malt is more pronounced making it seem less bitter, perhaps it is 5 IBU short...

    No Chill/... Some Chill?

I did it. It turned out very hoppy. After a few weeks in the keg it's a little underwhelming actually. Faded pretty fast. I'd put the bitterness I got somewhere around the 10 minute addition mark from just cube hopping. Maybe a trifle more. It was my first AG beer, and I made a few mistakes...

Yep, I do it. No problems here.

    Chilling The No-chill?

I would say that blending the different beers at the end will create more consistency from batch to batch. I really doubt someone will taste the difference between 3 beers from the same wort, fermented in the same conditions just at different times though....
