    Coffs Region Amateur Brewers unite!

Hives you can build yourself or buy for about $200. Then you need the bees, safety gear etc. And an extractor, which can be expensive. Best bet is to find someone who will put a hive on your property and manage it and give you a share of the honey.

I've got three bee hives on my property, pretty lazy about harvesting from them but usually get 20kg or so when i do. One of them is due for a harvest soon, how much honey you need? I also got a big pail sitting in my pantry a mate gave me from his farm in tassie. Its intensely floral, all...

I've made alcoholic lemonade a few times, zest and juice of 30 - 40 lemons for a 23l batch, bit of ginger, sugar and honey to 1045 - 1050,boil it for 20 mins, I use whatever ale yeast I have going, crash chill at around 1.015, let it naturally carb in the keg, then keep it cool so it doesn't...

    CRABs monthly meeting - September 28th 2013

I am heading up to the Gold Coast but I will be back for the 28th so that is good for me, and an Oktoberfest brew day sounds like a great idea, never done a marzen and keen to try one. Hoping to upgrade to a 70 or 100l pot from craftbrewer whilst away....good chance to put it through its paces!

    Coffs/Clarence and surrounds Brew Club

Not necessarily for the next meeting.... but i liked the idea of picking a BJCP style and everyone brings in a bottle or two (either homebrewed or commercial) and we taste it and pretend we can pick out flavours. Would be a bit of fun to do a brew day, most of us seemed to biab so could get...

50% Munich 50%MO 100% Cube hopped Zythos APA

Funny, i have been calculating mine as 10 minutes and been happy with the results. Probably depends a bit on process aswell, ie how long after flame out until it gets in the cube. Ambient temps might also play a role? I imagine a beer cubed on a summer morning will cool alot slower then one...

    Summit

Had another glass last night, garlic seemed to have nearly completely faded, gives it a background savoury bite that is almost enjoyable now. I gave some to the mrs and she enjoyed it. Its pretty light for an APA, no big citrus flavours coming through,a bit of grapefruit, lychees and pine.
