Congrats Florian, enjoyed your funky swap beer too. C'mon mate, time to tone back the language generally across this great forum by all. We are humans not animals. Mod edit to the quote above.

    Brown Pump For Rims.

Not sure on the head the brown pumps can push, I dare say it will come down to resistance and head differential in your specific system. You don't need a 'huge' amount of flow to avoid scorching as any movement of wort past the element will strip heat from the element avoiding the scorching. I...

    Brown Pump For Rims.

Maybe post your Q over here in the RIMS thread? http://www.aussiehomebrewer.com/forum/inde...56974&st=60 Or maybe better on the brown pumps thread here: http://www.aussiehomebrewer.com/forum/inde...showtopic=59811 Can't comment myself as I use a march pump.

Celebrity death bingo! My mate has this going with a circle of his friends. Each year write down your 10 famous/celebs. Points given on a sliding scale depending on how old/drugged up/etc they are. He (my mate) is a morbid basterd though!

Bittering With Hallertau Aroma Or Multiple Bittering Hops?

Ideally if you are aiming for the guidelines/a traditional Alt, you would be using Spalter hops in an Alt. But noble hops as a substiture are acceptable. A single 60 or 90 minute bittering addition should be just fine. Your yeast in the beer? The Alt thread in 'flavour of the week' has some...

Re: Accomodation and Interstate travellers Noting we brewers enjoy being frugal, I note nearby backpackers have reasonable rates around $50 per person per night in share rooms 4, 6, 8 etc dorms. Whom here is keen to book similar accomodation? I ask as I would rather dorm with fellow brewers...

    8 Wired Hopwired

Same as Columbus apparently! So it has some of the yankee characteristics and plenty of resin like with such large additions. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_hop_varieties The full body and malt of the beer supports it well though. I don't think substituting would be an issue at all.

    Bottling Tripel

Assuming the yeast in the beer can handle the higher alcohol, I would just prime normally. Nothing wrong with adding some extra yeast though. Its up to you really!

    Is The Disc Dead?

My old ute now has a $50 ebay stereo in it (replacing the old dead radio). SD/USB card only (no disc). Very limited features but it beats the hell out of listening to the radio. Have a heap of CD/DVD spindles collecting dust now too...

    Show us your brewrig

Thread here mate: Raven's Kettle Post 31 shows current aluminium boxes - still get warm but the IEC plugs work a treat - does not seem to soften at all. I was finding the plastic box was softening at the base - charring even after long boils!

2011 Funky Case Swap: Tasting Thread

Glad you like it mate! I have a number of these stashed away still to sample over the coming years also. Blending the base schwarz back with the 'lambicised' portion certainly helped smooth it out and reduce the harshness upfront I found.

    Show us your brewrig

On the flip side mate, my big bertha kettle had the plastic boxes housing the electrics, and they started to soften - so I went aluminum boxes. Yes they get warm, but work a treat for me now. My elements are 2400W ceramics which hold a lot of heat (low density), a large contribvuting factor in...

    Motogp

I'd love to see more top echelon riders come though the system into MotoGP. They seem few and far between atm though! 1L next year too yeah?
