    What font have I bought?

Yeah that was sort of the plan. Stumped at the lack of steel glycol lines. Do the base plates in your fonts screw off? If so the previous owner might just have lost it?

    What font have I bought?

Hi so I bought this font on Gumtree. It has snaplok connections Does anyone know what brand it is? And what I would have to do to flood it with glycol?

Xmas drop - What you planning & what do you recommend

I've figured that it'll be 3-7 days of drinking from midday onward so I'd try to get some tasty but light brews made. Ginger Beer - 2.4% - this I have already cracked open and it's a ripper "Drinking Game IPA" of my own invention - 2.7% - this is in primary at the moment and will I'm itching to...

Transporting wort from a brew day

:icon_offtopic: I wouldn't get hung up on the value of a tap on the FV. The last time I jammed a pvc pipe into the tap I noticed a stream of tiny bubbles through my beer as soon as I started emptying it out! Suffice to say I stopped it straight away and have been using a racking cane for the...

    Reviving old yeast stores

won't the dead yeast cells be canabilised by the live ones when you do your starter? That has been my understanding and the reason I keep boiling the ***** yeast that comes with goop cans to use as yeast nutrient. Also if there are dead cells left when your starter has fermented out won't they...

    yeast starter step up

If you want to build your understanding of yeast growth read through some of the experiments at http://braukaiser.com/ If you want a stepped starter calculator use http://www.brewersfriend.com/yeast-pitch-rate-and-starter-calculator/ Is there a reason you don't feel you can decant off the beer...

John Boston - Bostons Mill Pale Ale

walked into a dans on the weekend and picked up a 6er of the pale ale partly because it was $15 and had a free tasting table along with the golden ale (fancy that! given it's owned by Woolies. Sail&Anchor, anyone?) Also I had to laugh at the gall of it. I mean they have blatantly set out to copy...

2015 Hop Plantations, Show Us Your Hop Garden!

I reckon the most commonly grown German hops grown in Vic are Hallertau, Magnum, Nugget, Perle and Tettnanger. So start there? Easiest way I would try is wait until harvest time and buy a small amount of each variety from LHBS and compare smell Otherwise, apparently the appearance of the cones...

    5L keg

That makes a lot of sense I feel your pain with the bottle carbonation. Getting pretty sick of wondering weather it's going to be carbed properly or not. Seems to be totally random even within the same bulk primed batch. go figure.

    coopers apa questions

Love my dry hopped Galaxy in a Coopers APA. That and using coopers yeast have been the main ways I've been improving this kit. It's best to dry hop once fermentation is complete as the bubbling CO2 drives off the flavour, so I wait a bit longer than 4-5 days. As you've probably read, the...

    NoChill Man ****s

Or would more oestrogenic compounds leech out over a longer time period? I think I feel some science coming on. Maybe we can get a federal grant to produce all the required wort to test different no chill methods, oestrogen production and degradation. I suspect we would need to produce a lot of...

    5L keg

No worries mate. I did 5L batches to start with as well but got really sick of the mess associated with using part of a goop tin and saving the rest. What's keeping you going with 5L batches, if you don't mind me asking?
