    Ebay, Gumtree and FB Marketplace

Don't do it, those urns come with a bad rep!! If money is really tight buy an alloy crab cooker and install an element, should get change from $150. If you want to do no sparge you really need 40 ltrs, the higher liquir to grain ration is where the magic happens!!

    Biab Process Inconsistency

Hi mate, Sounds to me like there is residual heat in the pot etc, just stir it round and check in a couple of minutes, if it's still ok then mash in.. When you mash in give it a good stir for about three minutes and measure the mash temp again before you put the sleeping bag on, if it's still...

Getting A Double Batch Out Of A Keggle

I do it too, my cubes only fit 16 ltrs so i go the high gravity approach and boil the wort down, just up my evap rate a bit, no need to extend the boil. At the start I have 47 ltrs and top up about 15 minutes in with the dunk sparge water that has been on the stove. As others have pointed out...

    Tonights Brew

My vote goes with reducing the volume to get a better end result. If you reduce it to 15 ltrs as suggested and add say 300 grams of dex that should give you 4.8% in the bottle and about 28 ibu's :icon_drool2:

    Help With Initial Water Volume.

As all the above, only have one thing to add, in my experience BIAB you will loose close to 4 ltrs if you leave all the **** behind, at least in my keggle anyway, happy brewing!!

    High Gravity Solution

If you have bittered to 23 l then yes you should!! To work it out have a look at the this, copied from another brewer 16L of 1.078 from 4.2kg of grain and 0.2kg of sugar (which is to style), should dilute to 26L, the dilution formula I use for a target OG of 1.047: 78 / 47 * 16 = 26.5. I...

    Too Sweet, Now What?

Not sure if this is your issue so take it with a grain of salt.... I brewed lots of batches for a while there that were to sweet. After tasting a beer that I had been told had a lot of diacetyl in it and mine tasted similar, just stronger, i narrowed it down to bad yeast handling or infection...
