2017 Hop Plantations, Show Us Your Hop Garden!

Looks relatively anticlockwise to me in a green house up north of the equator. Meaning us south of the equator experience growth of the clockwise variety on most deciduous and annual climbing vines. There are always exceptions to the rule....thats how plants work. Certainly Hops do follow this...

Same deal as flushing the toilet....if we had the same type here as the US they would go in opposite directions...beans do the exact same here. And the exact opposite in the Northern Hemisphere too....as in climb clockwise.

Im planning on that this year. Just for a couple of varieties I want to keep a close eye on! Our veggie patch is large and Its completely fenced off so Im not going to have to do anything much. There is absolutely no reason it cant be done besides maybe shading things out that you dont want...

    Hops - growing Golding Hops

Just a word of wisdom......Hops will always change slightly to the conditions they're grown in. Unfortunately I cannot access the databases yet...maybe one day I will get access....they have done extensive work on grapes especially around Adelaide. They are now studying all the plants that went...

2016 where to buy some Rhizomes!

Righto. Since I seem to have my ear to the ground on this. I have found a mob up in QLD who run a rare plant nursery. They have some decent stock. As they produce their own crowns in pots which is a winner in my book. I just ordered 20 Target from them packed and shipped well and they look...

Moving some crowns around its still WAY to early here. They're very much still in dormancy. I will plant when the soil starts to warm up a fair bit more. We'll still get some cold cold nights between now and mid August. Not sure why so many people are planting in pots.....Wont work anywhere near...
