    thanks mate i dont mind big beers i just didnt no if it would effect the taste or not it was mashed in at 66 for an hr it droped to about 63 then i mashed out at 77 for 10 mins.

    i put my recipe into brewmate and it says to use 2.6kgs to 12L of water for an abv of 4.5% is this correct from what ive read it should be 4kgs of grain to 13L of water.

    im going to give biab a go in the next couple of weeks but im going to use the stove top method in a 19l pot and hopefully getting 9 or 10 litres of beer at the finish im just wondering how much water do i start of with and is there a grain to water ratio to follow for full strength beer?
