    No Chill Hop Additions

Did you tick the "no chill" box on the left hand side?

    Kits N Kegs

Chilled! Slightly OT but can I ask how you prime your bottles and what with? I get a few bottles out of each brew and over the years have used castor sugar, dextrose and carbonation drops. I based my OP on the fact that I could always taste and smell a sweetness in the bottles which I...

    Kits N Kegs

Mate, I said what I think, you did too, we don't agree, end of story.

    Kits N Kegs

I'll admit that you don't hear that sound when you pour a beer from a keg.

    Kits N Kegs

Aside from the fact that kegging is easier/less labour intensive than bottling, I am convinced that beer out of a keg is tastier than beer out of a bottle. I'm referring to homebrew, not megaswill.

    RecipeDB - JSAA Clone

I made this several times using US-05, but then changed to S-04. To me it seemed much closer to the original.

Using Scales Instead Of A Sight Glass..

[quote(I'm a one pot electric BIAB guy) I am assuming that you use an urn, if so what type? I use a 40L Crown urn with concealed element, and use a steel rule but not the sight glass. There is a formula on this site somewhere to calculate volume etc for one of these. If you happen to have...

    Biab Mash And Boil Times

Crundle, 7.6% loss over 1 hour = 11.4% over 90 mins. It seems like a very low figure. I regularly get 12 -13% loss (per hour) from my urn. Do you boil with the lid off, or do you have something floating on top of the wort to promote a rolling boil? I have a concealed element urn and find...

    Efficiency Breakdown Help

You don't mention your mash temperature. A loss to absorption of 2.7 litres (for expected pre boil volume) seems awfully high. For that amount of grain I normally get a max of 1.9 litres. I don't understand your reference to e-kettle, but if you are using BIAB perhaps you are not squeezing...

    Replacent Cube Lids

I've got one, with a hole and a grommet, that I don't use, but it hasn't got a rubber seal inside the lid. If you have no luck finding one send me a PM and I'll send it to you.

    Brewmate Water Calculations

[You have set 0.6 as your absorption rate. That means that you will lose 1.27 ltrs to absorption. If you are not losing that much you need to change your absorption rate.

No, I have never washed my stone. Thanks for the tips fellas, I can see the next one sliding off like a ship down a slipway

    Pizza

I am looking for some help from you experienced pizza makers. I use a pizza stone but have a problem. I roll my dough out on a well floured wooden paddle, then add the topping. My problem is getting the pizza onto the stone, it never slides easily and I usually end up with the back end of the...

    Brewmate

Yeah, now I can see it. Maybe I should give myself a good whack over the head with my white cane. Thanks for the valuable lesson - look!!!

    Brewmate

Today I was creating a recipe on Brewmate and accidentally added an ingredient that wasn't supposed to be in the recipe. It's just sitting there, no amounts etc. Is there any way that I can delete it? It's going to look out of place when I print the recipe.

    RecipeDB - DrSmurto's Landlord

Thanks Doc. I noted the 0 min Styrian (where did I get Stygian from - stygian darkness?) in the recipe db but somewhere in those 19 pages I had changed it to 20 mins. I will definitely leave the 0 min hops to steep, perhaps give them their own hop bag. Craftbrewer are out of Styrian and...

    No Chill Using Brew Mate

I BIAB and no chill and use Brew Mate. Beersmith confuses me, probably because I am old and not particularly computer savvy. I'm pretty happy with my results but have a question. I use a hop bag for my hop additions and remove it from the wort before no chilling, and for this reason do not...
