    I have 4 kegs and I had to buy 17mm, 19mm and a 22mm ring spanners to be able to get them all open. The ratchet ring spanners are sweet.

    Relationship between flocculation, krausen and trub

    The more the yeast flocs together and drops out of the beer the more trub you will get at the bottom of the fermenter. Krausen is the way the yeast works, some like to party on the top others play in the solution more. I dont think there is any connection between krausen and amount of trub.

    You are adding a small amount of oxygen post fermentation to the beer, so it wont age as well as if you didn't. But saying that I have diluted beer down (2-3 ltrs in a 25ltr brew) a few times and didn't see any noticeable difference to the beer but I wasn't aging it. It would be better to do it...

    The late and dry hopping that is in 2 Brothers Growler is an amazing display at how good Cascade is. I don't brew enough APA's to know how they have got that particular flavour and aroma from the hop, maybe its time I brew couple and throw the Cascade kitchen sink at it, late.

    I brewed an Australian pale with the British yeast yesterday it kicked off in under 24hrs. Lag time seemed to be within standard times. I hydrated!!!!!!
