Hay Pratty,
Received my probe safe and sound yesterday. Thanks for the prompt postage.
It has been good dealing with you, all the best in selling the others.

A garlic/onion flavour. Should make it into an Ale then have an Italian night with heaps of garlic bread. No one will pick the flavour as coming from the beer, just think its part of the cuisine.
Summit Bread, Now there is a thought.

Every beer was AG. I thought I might get some new K&K brewers with the fliers I put up but none came out. I was hopping to meet more new brewers. I promise to work harder next year and try to get some new brewers in the line up. Your prizes were very good Nev and were asked about by a lot of...
Being a steward I pulled my entries from the final prizes. I could have taken a first in a category but still would not have taken first overall from John. His beers truly deserved to win. Even tho the judging was suspect  I think the overall prizes went to the correct people, My thoughts...
The Chapman Valley Home Brew Comp has been run and there is a winner and some sore heads.
There was 16 beers to judge from 6 different brewers. The judges commented on this being the most successful in their short 4 year history. I will get the word out earlier next year and hopefully draw a...
I just read all of the info about the show. $20 per entry? Is this common for many competitions? It sounds steep to me. $20 to register then $5 per beer would turn out OK because I am the sort of person to enter 3 or 4 beers.
Just my opinion, Drewy.
These ones go behind the handle when looking at your beer fridge. I think kahlerisms is after something that will connect to the side and move with the handle. I don't have decal holders so maybe I am wrong.
Slow arvo HAHA.
Don't worry if your first few beers are average, enter them anyway. Either way get out to the show and meet some like minded brewers.
Don't be fooled you can make some really good beers via K&K. I like AG because I can change little things to tweak a recipe to my taste buds and...
Yes IGA has some K&K stuff but not much for an all grainer. U Brew it has closed down as he didn't really have much of an idea how to make beer but could follow a recipe quite well. I will drop you a PM later West Aussie Brewer. I am always trying to meet more local brewers. Are you thinking of...
The Globe was on Cunningham Street, West End. It is now offices and apartments. The proposed brewery is on Marrine Terrace between Toyota and The Boatshed opposite the silos. The corners of each block almost touch each other. Kind of a spin out when you think of it.
Geraldton might get its first brewery in 63 years. This was published in our local rag today. The proposed site almost backs onto the old site of Geraldton's last standing brewery, Globe Brewing, which closed down in 1949. Lets hope it gets the shire approval and liquor license it needs. Best...
Yeh It is. The comp is attached to an Agricultural Show with other stalls. Best Fruit and Veg, Best Cakes, Yada Yada. A lot of people enter all of the fruit and veg categories and the payment just flowed on to things like the Beer and all other categories. You also get $4 for winning a category...
Thought I would post a pic of the Vienna just to make mouths water. It is crystal clear after filtering but the glass has some condensate that makes it look a touch cloudy. Does yours taste a touch sulphury Triple B? I think I might change the yeast away from the Wyeast 2042 Danish Lager but to...
To all people in the Geraldton W.A. area the Chapman Valley Show is once again holding a Home Brew Competition. It will be on Saturday the 8th of September.
This year prizes have been donated by Latitude 28 (a local pub) $100, IGA $50 and Category prizes by gryphonbrewing.com
Being a small...
If I was out I would drink Guinness or 4 Pines, if the 4 Pines is available, but I wouldn't make either of these for myself at home.
My home stout is a sweet stout with equal parts Choc and Roast Barley for colour and sweetness. The rest is typical, Ale Malt ~75% some Crystal for complexity and...
