    Vegetarian Gel-it-in Queens

I think my point really is Gel-it-in may be the cheaper alternative to Brewbrite and Polyclar. I'm not to fond of paying more just for a product that you can find in your supermarket.

    Vegetarian Gel-it-in Queens

Had a keg of beer, waited... waited.... for it to clear and then after a week got tired of waiting and just added gelatin as usually do. Next day clear beer and no yeasty off flavour, happy days. That said I have a few lads that are not to fond of some additives and I like knowing if a vegan...

How much is saved milling own grain?

Tell the missus it saves the deficit of Kenya and must be done for the good of the world but do it because it allows you to change your recipe last minute on brew day. But yeah buy bulk base malt and any others you use a lot and pick up the speciality when needed. Bag of imported malts around...

Trying to split a packet dry yeast

I was referring to the $ amount of the half pack of 11.5G us 05. I know of 3 sourced in Adelaide that you can get them for 4.70 or less. $7 you may as well be using liquid :D

Trying to split a packet dry yeast

What about using the whole packet so your small batch is extra awesome and in the odd chance it is stuffed possibly ruining the next batch :D. My luck i'll just have loose yeast rolling around the freezer. The $2.30 you might save worth the quality risk? PS this Adelaide home brew store lad...

    Silicone orings

They can be brought but also made from the baking trays as you said. I know lads that went both ways neither complained about it. I guess if you need 1 or 2 buy them, need more cut up a tray and save some cash.

You either love it or hate it. Single hop and enjoy it. There's plenty of info out there on the interwebs.

    Australian malt European standards

Red an article a while back that said Aus is exporting to to Sapporo Breweries in Japan. Think I read someone saying the malt was tailored for that particular market. I'd say there's a good chance farmers / scientist are certainly working towards more of this.

NPT vs BSP thread type in a new set-up

Kev's bang on BSP is 55 deg, NPT is 60 deg. Both will screw in but your damaging one or both threads when you do. You will usually be fine on a home-brew "super low pressure" applications just don't over tighten and strip a thread and use a little bit of thread tape. Some unique brew items are...

    25L Cubes

Just remember if you kegging in to normal sized kegs you only need 19L. - losses ect. 25L may end up being a waste of perfectly good beer. If your bottling or a combination of both happy days more bottles for not much more effort. PS. the 20L cubes hold a little more than 20L. The 25L port...
