Hey Wally, Thanks for the quick reply. I should have mentioned that I intend to mount them onto a collar for a keezer.

    Purchasing Hop Rhizomes

Hey Shortsheep! Welcome to the forum! I have purchased some hop rhizomes off a fellow member here on AHB, and I am sure that some will come up for sale around winter time again (this is when I purchased mine). I have not come across a nursery that sells them, but I may have not looked hard...

Perick Taps - Flow Control Or Not?

Hello brewers, I am in the process of building myself a new keezer and need some advice on the following; 1. I intend to purchase Perlick taps but I am unsure whether or not to get Flow Control taps? 2. Should I be using JG fittings on all Quick Disconects, the back of taps and manifold or...

    2012 Hop Plantations

I have been using some fertilizers a seaweed one and and a carp one and applying them late in the afternoon direct to the lower foliage and around the root base every two weeks. If your leaves start to yellow use some Iron Chelate (another member has mentioned this to).

    2012 Hop Plantations

One other thing; what is the best way to store these after picking? Dehydrate and vac seal them or just cryo vac seal them? Cheers

    2012 Hop Plantations

So how long do you think they take to mature on the plant once they reach full size (or stop getting larger). Worst thing about this hot weather 39 here today, is that it burns (tips) the growing tips off the bines and it looks like it slightly burns the leaves on the cones.

    Brew Fridge Upgrade Recommendations

You are probably correct Kev, although my mate has a glass door one that he has insulated, and it's kept in a cool spot so that would reduce costs. I think the key is to keep it with as much thermal mass as possible.

    Brew Fridge Upgrade Recommendations

Maybe look into getting a commercial fridge? Pretty cheap for the size. One of my mates brews two 60lt batches at once and he has a single door Scope commercial fridge. Extremely efficient (apparently). Cheers, Ben

Plastic Kegs, Which Venues In Brisbane Use Them?

Hey Brewers, I am trying to find some plastic kegs, the 'one use' 50lt type. I see Archive and Tippler's Tap have them. (I have already requested that they keep them, rather than throw them away.) I intend to use them for some projects at uni, so it would be best if they are free and I only...

The owner of my local home brew shop - Toowoomba Home Brew Shop (no affiliation etc, etc), Takes hot kegs with him camping and else where and uses to plate chillers/cold plates to run the beer through. He keeps the plates in a Waeco/Engel and with the taps mounted into the Waeco and it works a...

    Kegging Setups

Built my girlfriend this kegerator for Christmas. She likes the new 'retro smeg' fridges so I designed it as such. Running two kegs on Micromatic Taps with the potential to have two with Brumby Taps. I brewed a Hefeweizen, Simcoe Pale Ale and mixed up a Rum & Coke for the rest of her family...
