    Fixing a leaking immersion chiller.

Hi guys, I have a simple DIY immersion chiller of a pretty common design, see below. Easy and relatively cheap to make but not always as reliable as we would like... We've all seen them and a lot of us know that they can spring a leak quite expectantly. With the simple design of some garden...

    Whats In The Glass

Aaaah, saturday session beers... Starting with my crack at Harry's Hefe. Note: SWMBO put my pint glass through the dishwasher so the head vanished pretty quick... ...and a damn fine Simcoe Smash!

    SE QLD Xmas-in-July 2015

Hwall95 has kindly offered me the use of his brew setup, he lives only a few suburbs away from me. I think we'll both be knocking out our swap beers on the same day. Count me back in fellas. Also thanks Winkle, Pierre & Fattox for the offers of the of your brew setups. All for one and one for...

    SE QLD Xmas-in-July 2015

That's not a bad idea, cheers Winkle and thanks for the offer of the kit. I'll see if someone closer to home is willing to have me around first and maybe knock out my swap brew then...

    SE QLD Xmas-in-July 2015

Hey guys, Due to the recent flooding of my brewspace, I'm going to have to remove myself from the swap. It hasn't halted my brewing entirely but it has crippled it somewhat. I don't think I'll be doing AG until I can get some new gear to replace some of the water-logged equipment. I'm still...

    Butchers really get my goat

Love me some goat in a curry. A friend of the family lives on property out the back of Mt Cootha and they shoot and bbq whole goats on their land all the time. Ismails Halal Butcher in McWhirters, Fortitude Valley is pretty sweet. They always have a variety of goat meat as well as a damn fine...

For Sale - Chinook and Victoria rhizomes

I understand some growers have had success with Chinook in SE Qld, I don't know about the Victoria though. I've wanted to try growing hops for a while now but have to convince SWMBO to relinquish the garden space needed for a big vine....

No fear Grumpy, now I've got somewhere for you to park your new boat if you ever get up to Brisbane with it. But seriously, we are all dried out now and have begun both the clean-up and the process of hitting up the insurance company to uphold its end of our contract.

True... I understand the feeling. I woke on Saturday up to discover I had a Olympic sized swimming pool in my backyard; and a smaller training pool in the front yard... and a kiddies wading pool under the house in my storage/brew-space... A lot of stuff lost and not just the floating...

    What are you listening to

Audio Books... endless audio books and the occasional podcast. Currently working my way through the 'Wheel of Time' series for the second time and loving it. I'm only listening to music these days when I want a bit of a mood booster.
