2014 Vic Xmas in July case swap

I've been known to make some pretty reasonable Afghan style chicken & goat swords if there is going to be some room to cook over coals at some point, they only take about 15 minutes. Delicious in a bit of pita Peoplewho'llbeshotifthefoodsucks: 1. New_guy 2. Mardoo 3. Martin OC 4. manticle 5...

    Husky's New 3V Brewery

Husky, the main problem I can see with your design is the location, it will never work there. If I were you I'd move that asap, there's a spot in my garage that would be perfect, I won't even charge you rent on the space.

    No chill in corny keg

Would the risk be air being sucked in as the wort cools and contracts? I'm guessing the corny keg is designed to hold pressure in, not keep it out so if the pressure in the keg is below the pressure outside it would suck air through the gas in post, the liquid out post and the pressure release...

    Mobile brewing software?

I really liked brewpal when I was on iphone, on android these days and that one isn't available (I actually contacted the author of the app a while back and asked if it ever would be and he said he had no intrest in doing it for android), very nearly convinced me to stick with iphone. Nearly.

    Erlenmeyer flasks

Yeah thanks Scooby, checked that, no joy. It's a good excuse to go to the homebrew shop anyway.

    Erlenmeyer flasks

Got them, just dont always remember to put them in. It wouldn't be brewing if I didn't stuff up half the time ;)

    Erlenmeyer flasks

Stir bars seem to be the most expensive part for me, mainly because I keep forgetting about them and tipping them down the sink when I'm cleaning my flasks. Think I'm on number 4 now.

    Erlenmeyer flasks

It's pretty but I made mine with a computer fan (reclaimed from a stuffed PC), a computer fan speed controller (about 4 bucks on ebay), 2 magnets, a tupperware box and a power supply from a crappy old ozito drill. Admittedly it doesn't do much to impress the ladies but for a total cost of about...

    Mobile brewing software?

I use Brewzor just for the refractometer, alc / attenuation and gravity correction calculators, other than that I just use Beersmith.

2014 Vic Xmas in July case swap

Sorry to drag this thread off on a tangent but I've got a question re the case swap, what bottle size is the generally accepted standard for such an event?

Switched over to flexible beer line

And here was me thinking there wasn’t anything else I desperately needed from keg king...

Tipped a full keg down the drain!

I had to do the same with a mild that was 150% diacetyl a few months ago. We sat on the lawn together for a while and I removed the lid with a salty tear runnig down my cheek and said goodbye.

    Gluten Free Brewing With Enzymes

Will do, I've got 2 coeliacs willing to be my lab rats, and will find a few more around the office if I can. I'll be adding it to a kolsch. If there are any coeliacs in the Dandenong / Cranbourne area that are interested in trying a couple of stubbies let me know :)
