    Byob-tv The Brewing Network

a bit painful to watch but still worth it for a good laugh at the contestants. It was weird to see Justin and JP in a ad for a Ford dealership, but ads for medical marijuana are a bit of a culture shock for me.

Heads Up For Tassie Beer Lovers

The guys at crown cellars are great, very knowledgeable and friendly. They regularly get in new stuff. But most importantly they understand proper beer handling and have good stock rotation so you know your not buying some thing that has sat on a warm shelf for the past year.

    Mango Beer/appeasing The Wife....

Mango goes very nicely with wheat beers. You could also just make an wheat beer that you will enjoy and your wife can mix in some mango juice, just like a raddler. I have done this a few times as my wife likes fruit beers but they don't do much for me. Let us know how you go.

Tasmanian Entries To Qualify For Aabc?

Maybe some of us Tasmanians should get together and start organizing our own comps, maybe start a Tasmanian brewing club? Edit: Seems like people are already keen to get something started. did the Idea of a Launceston based club go anywhere? http://www.aussiehomebrewer.com/forum/inde...=51754&st=0

    S04 Slow To Finish

Based on my own experiences I would say 1.010 is a normal finishing gravity for S-04. I have just kegged a English Brown Ale that started fermentation on the 25th of march using S-04, my starting gravity was 1.055 and it finished at 1.014 which is only just off my target using the recipe in...

    Good Brew Shop?

I Have never been into the shop but whenever I order online or over the phone all the staff at G&G have been a pleasure to deal with. On the few occasions when they have been out of stock on a item I ordered, their advice on an alternative item was very polite and helpful. I would definitely...

Boag's Wizard Smith - Where To Buy?

Wizard Smith's is a great beer but from talking to the guys at Boags it sounds like it's pretty unlikely that they will be sending it to the mainland any time soon.

    Tasmanian Wild Hop

Thanks BribieG, I didn't think there were any native hops in Australia but I was curious what was meant by "wild hop" and what variety was used. The more I read up on these early hop variety's grown and used in colonial Australia the more interested I become. I will defiantly be looking into...

    Tasmanian Wild Hop

I was reading that Pride of Ringwood was bred using pride of Kent and a wild Tasmanian hop. I also remember that Boag's made reference to a Tasmanian hop used in their Honey Porter called Van Diemen. these are probably not the same variety by could be related? Does any one know anything about...

J Boags Wizard Smith English Ale

I am pretty sure that they use Imported EKG, the previous master Brewer that came up with the beer was a Englishman and apparently he was after the particular profile of EKG. Probably on of the reasons its so expensive. But worth it IMO.

    The Cheese Thread
