The Beer You.d Most Like To Clone?

I agree about Old Speckled Hen it was my go to beer when I was in the UK, I also Highly rate their Old Golden Hen, apparently made with Tasmanian galaxy hops. I only got to try it once but it was the one of the best Golden Ale type beers I have had. I think I might try to clone it for summer...

    What Are You Brewing III

Brewing an Old Ale based on the Old Peculier recipe from "Brew Your Own British Real Ale" by Graham Wheeler but I adjusted the hops to use what I had on hand. Thinking I might add some Treacle into the fermenter after a few days, any thoughts? BeerSmith Recipe Printout -...

James Squire Pale Ale - New Beer

Had this one a few times now. First tasting was on tap I was unimpressed by it but it was the first release and I think they may have tweaked it a bit since then. second tasting was at a James squire dinner and I enjoyed it, and talking to a few other people there I was not alone in having...

Whats The Worst Beer You've Ever Tried?

Interesting that you did not like the MB Stout Noir Spork, I have heard other people say that there is a fair bit of diacetyl in this beer , I did not notice it myself but I have only tasted it once and in a social setting. any one else not liking this beer?

    Stop-start Brewing

OT: kelbygreen and Duke of Paddy There is tones of great info in the mead thread. The best bit of advice I can give it to keep it simple and not go overboard with the spices, use the best honey you can find and you will make some great mead. Oh and also patience (I'm still working on that)...

    Stop-start Brewing

I stopped brewing K&K when I decided that they quality of beer I was brewing wasn't worth my time and money, I didn't know a lot about what to do and I got some bad advice about fermentation (fast and hot). Then I started to make meads and fruit wines and found it much more rewarding, but it...

    Local Homebrew Shops

Have to agree with you there Spork, the Legana garden center while small and mainly catering to K&K is vastly superior to dealing with the rude and unhelpful staff at the dedicated home brew shop in town. Last time I was at northern home brewing in Launceston about a year ago I asked what hops...

    Byob-tv The Brewing Network

Just watched the second episode and I agree with the others that it was an improvement on the first. Have to add that I am a big fan of the brewing network and I enjoy the humor and information mix, just wish some of that came out in the B.Y.O.B. TV show.
