This is great, Im keen to see a Launceston based group get up and running. I have also started a mailing list HERE as I was trying to do the same sort of thing.

Keen to split some rye next bulk buy. Didn't know Crown Cellars had a beer garden but it sounds great. Doesn't one of the guys that work there post on AHB some times.

Sure did, I filled it up again today tilted it back 45 degrees and vented the pump now it starts after 1-3 tries. once the pump starts it seems to run fine. Ill brew again later in the week as soon as I have a free fermenter and will see how it goes.

First brew on the 20ltr Braumiester yesterday went great and the pump worked great. After I had cleaned the BM and the pump I filled it with clean water put it in manual and turned the pump on and got a similar problem. The pump stops and starts 1 -20 times until the pump starts to run...

Might have to make one of those myself. Anyone made one? how does it go?

Thanks to everyone for the great info in this thread. After a lot of deliberating I finaly decided to take advantage of the G&G sale on at the moment and buy myself a 20ltr Braumiester. Can't wait for it to arrive.

I agree Spork, I had a couple at the brewery a few weeks ago and another little taste at crown on Friday. The first time the leatherwood honey was very dominating but I thought it had rounded out a bit when I tasted it on Friday maybe it will continue to do so. I enjoyed the beer, would be great...

I'm keen for some sort Brew Club, Perhaps we could organise the next bulk buy to be a bit of a meetup as well, then we could talk about what we want out of the club and go from there. Spork I'm keen to split a bag of rye, drinking my first Roggen bier now and its tasting amazing.

Just Mashed in a Janet's Brown from Tasty's recipe in Brewing Classic Styles using the hops from Yakima Valley Hops.

I use untappd a lot to keep tack of the beers I have had. Makes for interesting reading the morning after a big night out. I wouldn't recomend it if you want to need detailed notes but its a fun way of rembering your drinks and seeing what your mates are drinking.
