    an analysis of your water would be desirable,you could then determine what to add to your mash to get y the desired ph,calcium levels etc. Id do a mash,draw some wort, and check its ph first.

    As long as your not frothin ya mash up with a paint stirer stuck in a drill etc. then it aint a huge concern.A bit of splashing here and there is nothing to be concerned about.Heres a good podcast that helped alleviate my fears.HSA PODCAST

    it would get pretty hot at the cords overlap .Reptile dudes that use them usually route a channel in a piece of mdf or melamine board and lay the cord in the channel and then put the gravel over the board.Laying the cord out on a piece of timber,and sitting the timber in the bottom of the fridge...

    cord is different than a pad,pad would distribute heat better over its surface etc the cords are designed for burying in specific substrates,gravel etc

    confused?you say its to hoppy but then say you dont get much hop flavor?do u meen bitterness?malty for malt strong flavor then theres hop flavor(such as the spiciness of ekg or the fruitiness of cascade etc)hop bitterness (the bitter twang after a mouthfull)or hop aroma (the smell of course)

    ive read of those cords melting through plastic tubs.if you were to lay it in the bottom of ya fridge with a temp probe up,attached to your fermentor,the cord might get pretty hot by the time the probe hits 20c or so.

    great simple recipe thats allways on the list! I use a 20 min hop addition instead of 10min,tends to give me more EKG flavour,and bairds dark crystal.Been using wlp005 british ale lately aswell.Cheers aaron.

    i brew simple 50/50 wheat/pils beers, fermented with wlp300 @ 20c and they are crackers. single infusion 65c.. Awesome summer beer. ala docs wheat beer in the recipe db.Takes a few layers of cling wrap to keep the krausen in tho. :icon_cheers:

    never had one in a bottle for that long.Is it mold? Ive seen a similar thing come out of a beer where the bottle hadnt been properly washed prior to filling.
