    A Few More Small Pics

An AHB private pre-open special would be fun - perhaps I'd better put that one past WortPig first before making any promises... Gulp

    A Few More Small Pics

Oh yes Dicko, I can see it now - a bus driven by Kenny with GMK Enterprises written on the side of it with a load of homebrewers lurching from town to town terrorising the locals! Bring it on! Cheers!

    New Aussie Beer Coming Soon

Hi Sean, I'm getting my info from an old book here - "Historical Highlights of Goolwa and Encounter Bay" (LPH, 1975, M Robinson & B Swan ISBN O 86946 152 4 if you want to look it up). And you are absolutely right, those figures don't add up. <_< That's the last time I'll use that book to try...

    A Few More Small Pics

OK, seeing how the Website boffins are working a little slowly ATM I thought I'd add a few more pics of the renno-rescue. The woodwork is being stripped of 130 year old paint and rotten sections identified to be chopped out. Next section is to completely replace the roof and walls... After this...

    New Aussie Beer Coming Soon

Once upon a time the river DID flow upstram...in a manner of speaking... Down here at the Murray mouth, Goolwa has an important but often forgotten history of brewing linked with the Paddle-steamer trade. In 1865 Edward Dutton established a brewery in Richard Street, Goolwa. The beer he produced...

Micro Brewery Opening In Barossa Valley

There was a good article in the Barossa Valley local rag a while back. There will be 2 micros in the valley, one in Lyndoch (Mcguigan) and one in Greenock (Trinn). Both share an almost identical name and both seem to be pushing wheat beer. The Lyndoch mob will market theirs under the name of...

    A Chiller For The Chiller

Hi Dicko, With a convoluted cfwc I would think that the theory is the more turbulent the flow, the greater the potential surface area of the wort you are able to present to the wall of the pipe. Therefore the closer the crimps/flat sections in the pipe, the turbulent the better. I've only seen...

    A Chiller For The Chiller

Dicko, Maybe also try 'convaluting' your internal copper pipe ie; get some pliers and squash the tube a bit flat, then squash it again at 90 degrees to the previous...the turbulent flow of the wort is supposed to help the rapid cooling tremendously. Cheers!

    The Holdy

Hey Big D, You win that argument hands down... I'm the first male in living memory in my family history who has never had to go 'down the pit' (it's a Welsh thing, used by very old grandfathers to frighten their very young grandsons into doing well at school. That and the whole coal-dust...

    Grain Mills

No worries Dicko. It's just something I too had read elsewhere and wondered what folks here thought. Let's face it - almost anything that could be done to a homebrew has been done by someone here. AHB the ultimate HB encyclopaedia. Cheers

Where To Buy A Kit From?

And just to drive the message home one more time... Support your home-brew shop! BTW can anyone who lives in Brissy point out a few real decent places Bozza could try? All the best.

    Grain Mills

Something else just crossed my mind. It may be hijacking this thread, but has or does anyone here spray their grains with hot water before crushing to soften them up and yeild a more intact husk? Cheers.

    Problems With Air Tight Seal

Amour-all is fine - you're not putting it in actual contact with the beer... (well away from your brew) Just spray some on your finger and rub it on your black rubber ring... easy...
