    Qld - Sunday Mail 29/1 - P12

It looked a lot like Nectar in Brisbane... but that's been closed for about 6 months now.

    Survived The First Mash

Yeh, lesson learned about the fridge. Lucky no real damage was done. Thanks for the tip WJ, I'll give that a shot next time.

    Survived The First Mash

So after trawling these and other forums, reading books and going along to my local brewing club I finally put down my first BIAB mash yesterday. Whilst I was fairly sure I was on top of everything I didn't really expect things to go down without a few hiccups. #1: Everything worked perfectly...

New Craft Beer Bar In Brisbane - The Scratch

Yeh, I was tempted to bugger off but I'd made the journey over to Milton specifically to check the place out. I definitely won't try 8pm on a Friday night again though. Either get whilst people are still at dinner or waiting till after 9.

    Fox Craft Beer Festival

True. Anywhere that gets your pale on tap does go up in my book. Pity I won't have a chance to check it out.

    Fox Craft Beer Festival

Priced pretty well... I'm just hugely sceptical about The Fox as it's usual patrons are idiot 18 year old blokes in pink singlets drinking a red cruiser.

New Craft Beer Bar In Brisbane - The Scratch

Got into the Scratch last night. Very enjoyable atmosphere and the guys there definitely know their beer. The only downside was we had to stand in line for about 15min to get inside. That was easily made up for after the first glass of Bacchus raspberry oatmeal stout. Fantastic drop.

Asahi And Other Japanese Beer Distributers In Bne

Well Lion Nathan is owned by Kirin so I would assume they handle any other beers under the Kirin umbrella.

    Megaswill

I wouldn't say the megaswill are necessarily bad beers, just bland. Lagers are bland in comparison to ales and all the big producers do is make more of the same and simply switch out the marketing angle. I certainly don't look down on anyone that prefers a VB over an IIPA or Belgian Tripel, I...

What Did You Get For Xmas

The beginnings of my all grain brewery. A 40L crown urn, a grain bag, 1m of silicon tubing and a 20L cube.

    Brewhouse Updates

Sounds good. I'll definitely wander down to try it.

    Beermasons, Any Good?

The pack pictured was maybe two packs ago.. Not sure if you'll get that one or the latest pack (I only got it 2 days ago). I definitely recommend Beermasons. It is a bit of money but you tend to get your hands on beers that you otherwise couldn't get in Australia and I'd say I've enjoyed about...

    Biab Sour Beer

As someone about to begin BIAB and all grain brewing in general... I'll remember not to do this.

Brewdog - There Is No Santa

I enjoyed it for the sheer novelty. Not generally a fan of these spiced/xmas beers though.

    Brewhouse Updates

Just had dinner there tonight... Black IPA is still there and tasting beautiful.

New Beer Bar - Bitter Suite

Had lunch there yesterday. The steak burger is bloody tasty and went down nicely with a sunny coast porter and 4 degrees pale.

Looking For A Beer Fridge [brisbane]

Cheers guys. Between gumtree, ebay and the trading post I should be able to find something.

    Whats In The Glass (commercial)

Once upon a time these breweries put out some really amazing beers. I don't know if much has changed with Little Creatures but James Squire is defnitely not the same brewery/beers since Lion Nathan took over.

Looking For A Beer Fridge [brisbane]

I was the 2nd caller by about 5min. Assuming the first guy doesn't end up taking it then I've got it. Thanks for pointing me towards it, hopefully it the other guy will decide against a free fridge...
