    Questions About Australia

 Mate, can you pick up all those worms and put em back into that nice can. I thought you said you didn't want to talk politics?

Granville Island - Lions Winter Ale

Nah, don't think you'll be finding this over here. I had a quick look online (beerstore, slowbeer) nothing for Granville Is at all. Keep searching though, you might find it. Your post made me nostalgic for Vancouver! I loved that Granville Is beers were everywhere on tap over there. When I...

    Infinium

Just wanting to bump this thread, to see if anyone else had tried this and were able to give feed back. We managed to score a few bottle through our rep at work. Mines sitting there, ready to go, just curious what others have to say about it. Some clown in the bar paid one of the other guys...

    Can Candoo Do? (qld Thread)

:icon_offtopic: Question about those bikes. Do you need a helmet to ride one? I remember when Melbourne City Council put them in everywhere around the city there last year, there was hoohar because people were getting fined by the police for not wearing helmets. So, the damn things were always...

    Questions About Australia

No we're not. It's just you're asking homebrewers these questions. Homebrewers rock! :beerbang: We're the salt of the earth

Love It Or Hate It - Your Job Poll

Been a chef for the last 12 years. I love where it has taken me - ie traveled the world, been able to pick up jobs easy. Worked in some great restaurants, but cannot stand it any more, cooking drives me crazy. Currently working out what else to do. Work for a bar/restaurant now out on the floor...

    I Think Its Too Cold

Thats as good as reason as any :chug: I don't know how cold it gets in Perth over winters, but if you were wanting to try a different yeast around the 15/16 temp range, you could always try the Wyeast 2112 California Lager. It's range is 14-18 degrees. I haven't used it, but I hear good things.

    I Think Its Too Cold

15 degrees is the bottom end of workability for this yeast. It may take a while to get going. One day isn't unheard of for a dry yeast to get started. Do you know how old the yeast was? Do you know how well it was looked after before you bought it ie: was it on a shelf, not in a fridge? If the...

    Ecu Short Brewing Course

How'd you go Duke? Were you able to secure a place? I got an email from the uni before, and there were 11 names on the CC. Should be a great week. Look forward to meeting you! Any other AHBers heading to this course?

Sunny Coast Beer Tasting - Best Of British

Great job on the tasting Shed! Apart from the drinking of lovely ales, I found it quite informative and well presented. Would loved to have stayed longer, however my driver wanted a drink herself :D She suggested next time we stay up there so driving isn't an issue. Bless her :wub...

    Mushroom Growing

These videos on youtube are very informative Just watch the first one, then there is 3 more after that. Plus a bunch of related videos too. The production and especially the sound track are a little, ummm, interesting  There is some great info there. Seems like a fairly cost...

    Brisbane Ahb Pub Crawl

Late August early september would suit me fine. I work in hospitality so the ability to get weekends off must be finely negotiated and horse trading with other staff members must occur :D I've used up all my good will coming into June and July. So i'll leave you other lads to pick a specific...

    Breweries Near Mt. Buller -

+2 for Bridge Road Brewers in Beechworth. Spent a few afternoons here. Great beer and great pizza. Are you a wine drinker at all JD? If so, then definitely head to Beechworth, then, on the way to (or from) Buller, get to some great wineries in the King Valley there (Dal Zotto, Pizzini, Brown...

An English Beer And Food Blog..excellent!

G'day Fifey, Can't remember the exact recipe, but for the pudding, it would have been something like this. For the caramel, I got 2 litres of best bitter from the taps in the bar (I work for the Sunshine Coast Brewery Bar, so it was SCB Best bitter) and reduced it down to 1 litre. I then added...

    Brewing Licence

Who's been telling you this chef? Unfortunately I think they're talking out their arse. All the info in the thread originally posted still stands, if anything, it's probably become more complicated over the years. No way can a homebrewer sell their beer to a pub. Happy to be corrected if anyone...

    Sugars In Beers

What chocolate have you used before Damo? (I notice you have a Willy Wonka Porter in you signature). Are you using a type of cacao, or a mainstream brand of chocolate? Dave
