    Mash Hop Only

Ok, the beast is now in the fermenter and yeast pitched. Had a sample from the hydrometer tube, Bitterness is noticeable but not huge, flavour is just there and aroma almost not. During the boil i noticed by 30 minutes the aroma was really dying off. Was tempted to throw some amarillo in late...

    Trouble @ Grumpy's

I hate to say it but it was only a matter of time. It's a pretty vulnerable sort of list with no registration.

    Mash Hop Only

Now running into the kettle, the smell and the taste are awesome, a bit of bitterness there and the runnings are, well..................Green! By the looks of it the pellet hops do nothing to help with the runoff.

Stephen, Done a mountain of APA's with additions every 10 mins and a couple with additions every 5 mins with great results but that's not what I'm trying to do here. It's myth buster time................................ The idea is to see what flavours/aromas and bitterness are kept after the...

    Types Of Hp Burners

No it's true. They are rated at 126.5mJ/hr at 80 kpa. The mix up is from another model with the same size body with a pilot light. If you compare the holes on the ring where the gas comes out you'll see a huge difference. Side by side with a nasa, the flame size and noise are pretty much the...

    Germinating Hop Seeds

Thinking back to a teaching from Dr Karl Kruszelnicki. Assexual breeding ensures the plant won't mutate, the disadvantage is that the plant won't develop resistance to particular diseases. Sexual breeding will allow a plant to mutate or adapt to its ever changing envirnoment. The problem is...

Style Of The Week 7/6/06 - German Pilsner

As I said with the Powell's, I could never get the same malt flavour i did with the JW. I didn't elaborate on any rercipes but they all contained either light munich or melanoiden or both. I have a nice big sack of Weyermann pils which I'll be doing 100% with the hallertau and tettnang from...

    Slow Death Of My Brewfridge?

Unplug it, let it completely thaw and then restart it. when it gets back to temp in the freezer section see what the main compartment is like. Quite often the transfer fan is the problem, could be a twin circuit fridge but if its more than 5 yrs old I doubt it.
