    19l Stovetop Pot $11.98

Surely at $11.98 it can't be stainless steel? Someone tell me otherwise and I'm off to BigW.

    Extract Brewing

This is a real easy one, just needs a 5 litre boil, and tastes great. http://www.aussiehomebrewer.com/forum//ind...&recipe=867 Edit: As for the hops, I just chuck em in the pot but I do strain into the fermenter when done.

    Kegging Setups

Love the brass tap handles. They'd go nicely with my recently purchased brass Perlicks. Your mate could sell those on Ebay. I'd buy two straight away :)

Reducing Water Boil Amount In Extract Recipe

I just had a look at that recipe and I'm a little confused about something. Dr Smurto says a 90 minute boil with the first hop addition at 60 minutes, 40g of Fuggles.... You say Fuggles at 90 minutes :) Is that the way you do it? Seems weird too that in the recipe I listed from the book it...

    Washing Beer Glasses

I know some people don't like anything Brewcraft related but I've found their Brewclean to be pretty good for glasses. From their website.. "100% biodegradable, detergent & solvent free, non-toxic. Use for everything. Cleans kitchen & bathroom surfaces, BBQs, degreases engines. Fantastic...

Reducing Water Boil Amount In Extract Recipe

Good to hear I can reduce the water. RdeVjun, I'll try as you said, a 5L boil and use the East Kent Goldings. As for the yeast, the book doesn't actually mention yeast for any of the recipes. So I did a little Googling regarding yeast and found that 1469 was recommended but as mentioned, hard...

Reducing Water Boil Amount In Extract Recipe

Thanks. The reason I ask is because while looking over at both Craftbrewer and Grain and Grape I saw no Goldings pellets, just East Kent Goldings. Though Craftbrewer does seem to have flowers.

Reducing Water Boil Amount In Extract Recipe

Another book, another recipe. This time for Timothy Taylors Landlord. The extract recipes in "Brew Your Own British Real Ale" call for an 18 litre boil. For this recipe it says for a 23 litre brew (I imagine you add the extra water to the 18L ater the boil and transfering to the fermenter?)...

    Whats In The Glass (commercial)

I asked him a couple of weeks back about postage to Oz. 22 pounds air mail for 4 glasses. 13 pounds for surface. I do prefer the wording on Tony's though.

Tony, where did you get that thistle glass? The best I can do is Ebay UK but it works out fairly costly.

    Coopers Sparkling Extract Recipe

Sure thing... 19L Extract with grains. OG= 1.058 FG= 1.0012 IBU=25 SRM=10 ABV=5.6% 0.91kg Coopers light dried malt. 1.5kg Coopers liquid malt extract (late edition). 0.68kg 2-row pale ale malt (not sure why it lists this as apparently it can't be used in an extract recipe). 0.23kg crystal...

    Coopers Sparkling Extract Recipe

Hi all, A little while back I bought the Brew Your Own magazine "150 Classic Recipes" and it has a recipe in there for Coopers Sparkling, both all grain and extract. The only Aussie beer in the magazine btw. I'll be brewing the extract version. Anyway, the recipe calls for 680gms of 2-row...

    Starsan

Ok, thought I might be wrong. They don't feel all slimy after you empty the starsan?

    Starsan

I was always under the impression that leaving starsan in a fermenter for a few weeks or so was not so good for the plastic. Of course I'm likely wrong :) That other stuff, Sodium Percarbonate, is supposed to be good for that with just a little bit sprinkled on the bottom.

    Starsan

I make up 2 litres and use that to sanitise 2 fermenters. When I'm finished with one I'll pour it into the other fermenter. Just put the fermenter lid on and roll it and shake it around making sure all surfaces get a good soaking. Sometimes when I'm finished I'll put it in the fridge and use...

    Coopers Plastic Tap

You can get different sized snap taps. Isn't the thread size on a Coopers fermenter the same as most other fermenters?

    Coopers Plastic Tap

Yeah, don't bother. Buy a snap tap and be done with it. They are designed to come apart so cleaning is easy. Been a while since I bought one but they are probably about $5 and will last you a long time.
