    swap to pints maybe your back is sore from pouring to many schooners? Getting in and out of the lounge chair bending and turning on tap / opening door etc ? pints are worth a try :) lifting kegs into the keeeezer make my back sore sometimes

    wrap your urn in a blanket / yoga mat / insulation and float a small dish on top to increase boil vigor if it's a concealed element don't wrap the base area (IMO) as it will overheat the element and wiring my current run of PV fermented beer has been very good :) happy days

    others will chime in with valuable opinion i reckon your 16 is fine. if you had the probe at the middle of the ferment the air temp would get very cold before the ferment gets to 20 but once there the FVT should have less variance but the air temps still would have a large variance. i just...

    whats your probe sitting in? I run a keezer and probe is in a bottle of water and goes up and down but air temp goes lower. air temp kind of has to, to start shifting temps down i would not heat belt it.. you will work the freezer harder

    I assume that's a 3 prong plug unit so has an earth ? i have an older version of a birko OTS with bakel-a-lite type plastic for a handle. i use it to help speed up getting to the boil and then remove. I like it but also consider it a higher risk tool. yours should have a mark on the element...
