    Yeast Nutrient

Hey Beerslayer, quick answers to your questions. - Yes i use it, mostly in starters and strong ales. - Yes it helps kick off a strong fermentation and attenuation - I use 1 packet of the dry stuff per 20lt, i think they come in ~6gm bags?

    Fruit Beer

You wont get much if any flavour from 300g especially if kept at 0 degrees. But your right blueberries are expensive especially if fresh, i use the frozen packs when doing fruit beers as it works out too exy to buy 2.5kg of fresh produce.

    Yeast Nutrient Overdose?

Last night while making a starter as i was adding my yeast nutrient i pondered the question, can the yeast overdose on this stuff? Kind of like a plant can overdose on fertilizer? So instead of adding my usual dozen or so tiny crystals to a 1lt starter i added roughly a 1/4tsp and it seems to...

    Hop Plantation 2005

So now that my hops have been harvested i think i remember reading somewhere that the best thing to do is cut the vines off a few cm from the base and leave the rhizomes to hibernate till next season. Is this correct? And i can supposedly bury the vines to create more rhizomes, correct?
