    Show us your brewrig

Damn, if I am not mistaken I saw that bench at Bunnings the other day for $99, but wasn't sure it would be strong enough! And my setup is half the size of yours! This is the boy I believe: https://www.bunnings.com.au/romak-900-x-1500-x-540mm-garage-workbench_p2760456

    Ebay, Gumtree and FB Marketplace

Anyone know of a good use for Privatbrauerei Hoepfner kegs? Would be a bargain and a half if you could use them! http://www.gumtree.com.au/s-ad/o-sullivan-beach/miscellaneous-goods/beer-brewing-barrels/1107665900

    Aldi specials

Oh and I can't really speak for the vac sealer yet, it has a good quality look and feel to it, and it has done a good job for the 2 meager jobs I have done with it so far. Time will tell.

    Aldi specials

Long suffering ALDI-less Adelaideians rejoice, ALDI has arrived and it has all of the treasures we have been promised. Bought myself a vacuum sealer and some spare bag roll from the Woodcroft store. Sealer $70, 2x5m rolls $15. They also have the Dollys mentioned above, round and...

    Goodbye Dick Smith

I went into Dick Smith the other day because I needed a soldering iron, I thought it was a dead cert. I spent ages circling the place sure I would find one. When I realized they didn't sell them it occurred to me that I had no idea what Dick Smith sell...

    Avocado beer?

I watched this on the ABC the other day. Not sure if its mentioned in the online video (can't watch it where I am at the moment) but yeah, the main problem is head retention. The head dissipates to nothing immediately.

    Considering grainfather purchase?

I picked up a RoboBrew for my brother last week as he was keen to leap in at the deep end doing full mashes. Its hard to go past for the price. No doubt the Grainfather is better, but the different price points make them virtually incomparable. Like tossing up between a Great Wall and a Prado...

    Cheap sparge arm hack

Yeah, it did at least 50 brews before it buckled, and its done at least 50 brews since. I expected it to die a natural death a long time ago but it stopped getting worse a while back. I will continue to use it until it packs it in if that ever happens! Fortunately the lid still fits.

Large dry hop addition - is a secondary necessary?

Another option for you. I bought myself a large hop ball for my last Pale Ale and suspended it from the top of the keg. With 25g in it it was only about a quarter full, but obviously 100% full it probably wouldn't work as well. Lazy but effective!
