Lemonade - What Yeast? -opinins Please-

yeah, I removed the pith in the same fashion, but feel there is still enough in there to impart the bitterness.....yes, you probably should have used more rind. Adding the bottle of bickfords will only serve to feed the yeasties with more sugar and continue the fermentation.....unless you're...

Lemonade - What Yeast? -opinins Please-

My sentiment exactly. I've found you can peel thinly enough without taking any pith with an average peeler. Yes, that's why most advice is, to use lactose for it's non-fermentabilty....however, being half as sweet as sugar, you would need 1-2kgs or more for a 'sweet' lemonade....I just don't...

Lemonade - What Yeast? -opinins Please-

UPDATE: This turned out ok! SG-1.036, FG-1.008 EXCEPT FOR.... The ever-so-slight bitter twang at the end....a small range of people who tried it didn't mind it....but I wanted an 'alcoholic Solo' result, mainly for SWMBO....with that in mind, it was also, a touch dry. Colour is perfect, just...

    Not Fermenting / Stuck

Sun...not good. I'm surprised you haven't just given it a GOOD swirl. Definitely recommended! Otherwise, leave it alone for another 5 days or so. 18C is a good temp...don't go raising it above 20C.

    'the Brewery That Changed America'

Wow!.....I wasn't aware of this either. You'd think they'd make it a little easier to subscribe though, if they really wanted the support. I looked for a subscription link to be made aware of any future petitions etc, but couldn't find one.

    Warning To No Chillers

From John Palmer's howtobrew.com: **SNIP** Iodophor: Iodophor is a solution of iodine complexed with a polymer carrier that is very convenient to use. One tablespoon in 5 gallons of water (15ml in 19 l) is all that is needed to sanitize equipment with a two minute soak time. This produces a...

    Beer Label Software

I assume one would need a colour 'laser' printer to print waterproof labels? My understanding is that inkjets are water based inks.

First Kit Great 2nd One Not As Good, Why?

Wish I'd read this article before today! I've only ever used kit yeast with any kits/partials. Damn! I wonder if that's affected the quality of my beer as much as he says in the article? (I was quite shocked) Would it be ok to top up a Coopers English Bitters brew in which I pitched the kit...
