    Hlt And Lauter Tun

hey I'm in a similar boat trying to organize buying gear to go AG, and was thinking of getting a similar set-up to how they do it at G&G and had a few questions like, how did you transfer the mash into the bucket with the false bottom? And when mashing in a heating container (ie. pot or urn)...

    Wyeast 3789pc Trappist Blend

yeah it is supposed to emulate orval, but in regards to your question to my knowledge you don't need to pitch another belgian yeast as this one only contains a small amount of brett which will start off mild and build up over time... I'm pretty sure its similar to fermenting with a belgian yeast...

    Lambic Brew Idea's

kind of off topic but what are peoples thoughts on hops, do people boil low alpha hops or just dry-hop? I realize aging is preferable but i don't plan on keeping hops for 3 years... My latest Lambic i decided to experiment and only dry-hopped and added a (quite large) quantity and variety of...

    Lambic Brew Idea's

from what I've read Lambics are left on the yeast cake as the bugs feed on the yeast for nutrients over the long aging period usually from 1-3 years... Older LAmbics are more complex while younger ones are more one dimensionally sour... I think temperature control can go either way as When i did...

What Is The Future Of Beer

When I got o pre-drinks etc. I'll admit I'll usually buy what ever is cheap but when and when at the pub I'll try different micro-brews standard pale ales etc... But when I go to purvis or slow beer to buy a craft beer I will always look for one that will be more of an experience and possibly...

St Rogue Red Ale - Dry Hopped

Does anyone have any recommendations for an extract brewer/ partial mash brewer?? in regards to getting a drier finish, I've heard if you partial mash with a base grain at whatever temperature it converts the rest of the malt extract/carbohydrates to that temp (as if you'd mashed it) I'm...
