For anyone installing a Smartpid in their Guten follow the wiring diagram in the Klarstein retro fit PDF and not the wiring in the Youtube vid. Had me stumped :rolleyes::D

So I finally got the Smartpid set up in my Guten. I followed the directions the Klarstein Retrofit PDF. The NTC Beta is set to 3950, the probe type is set to NTC, etc. I have double checked all the wiring to make sure it is correct. If I go in to Run mode or Auto PID Tuning the temperature...

I took out the sight glass and re taped it and screwed it back in. Its working perfectly now but still put in the chrome one. At least I can test and learn the Smartpid now.

Im wondering if the lids where upside down and the perc created an o2 pocket? I dont know how that would rust it but it might explain the weird mark on this lid.

On the kegking site it says caustic and perc make an effective cleaner. Ive used it a fair few times without trouble. Can you even get new racetrack lids? Strangely the 2nd lid had this rust mark on it. This is after some oxalic acid and a scrub.

I decided to clean out an old racetrack keg thats been lying around for a while. Perc and a bit of costic. I got a bit (very) slack and left it soaking for 2 or 3 weeks. The inside of the lod rusted. I can get rid of the rust but im guessimg i should use this keg for beer again?

I got some pacifica from brewman that i plan on using in a similar beer. Looks very nice.

I had a bit of trouble getting the sight glass to seal at the bottom of the glass. A few hours and a heap of plumbers tape later it was all sealed and working well except for a small leak through thermeometer outlet. No probs I taped up the nut but when I put it back in I twisted and cracked...

Its an aluminium housing sight glass. Stupid me had an all stainless one that i sold on here a few years ago because i was only doing biab. Edit: i think you van get these on Alixpress?

I just finished putting on a sight glass. I havnt tested it yet. It was a bit of mucking around so i hope its ok. The only problem that i can see is that the thread diameter at the bottom of the sight glass housing is only about 1/4" which is going to restrict tje flow a bit.
