Forum needs to be active so let's talk political.

This movie (or should that be doco?) is going to be a hoot. Out in the US early Sept. just in time for the mid-term elections. https://twitter.com/MySonHunter

Here's a blast from the past. Ex-PM Tony Abbott in a wide ranging chat, both reflective and forward looking, with Nigel Farage over a couple of pints. Nice lacing on those glasses too. But disappointed old Tony only has one sip. Now if it was Hawkie giving the interview...

Thought I'd give this useful old thread a bump. Must be one of the longest running threads on AHB. It started in 2007, went dormant in 2019, then came to life again earlier this year only to go quiet again. So, 'Bump!

    Fridge penetration

Perhaps try using thermal imaging (maybe you have an app on your smart phone) to discover where the refrigerant pipes are installed inside the walls/door/top of the fridge. It might be more apparent if the fridge has been off for some time so that the temperature of the whole fridge comes up to...

    What are you listening to

Vale Judith Durham. There will no doubt be plenty of clips of her singing with the Seekers on the TV news today. All good but here she is solo, singing Danny Boy live in front of a Melbourne TV studio audience back in the 1960s. What a truly glorious voice she had. RIP.

    G’day folks!

Welcome aboard, ScoAussie. And no worries if putting you point of view across in words is a challenge. You can always try using the Scots’ legendary lucidity in the visual arts:

    Looking for a Mentor

I’ve got a “small set up” in an RV. I know a quiet place in the desert. I can take you “through all the steps”. There will be consequences. Tread lightly. And welcome to the forum :)

Coopers Longneck pressure rating? Carb level for hard ginger beer?

This doesn’t really answer NickThe Knife’s OP, but I thought I’d post it anyway because its interesting and adds to the mix. And because I finally found what I thought might be an answer (but isn’t) on the Coopers forum. I remembered reading about it years ago and finally found the thread. It...

    Failed Carbonation / conditioning.

Did you record your Final Gravity after primary fermentation? If so, sacrifice a bottle of the flat brew and check its gravity. If its the same as the FG then you probably forgot to add the sugar to the bulk prime (as you suggested). If its higher than the FG then you did add the sugar and it is...

What Is The Best Pressure Fermenter?

Were you there? There are a multitude of possibilities. Maybe the user had damaged the vessel, blocked safety ports with gunk. You need to get the facts first. Knee jerk reactions don't help.

What Is The Best Pressure Fermenter?

Any pressure vessel can explode if taken over its max working pressure. Was the pressure relief valve(s) set correctly. Need to know the background before jumping to conclusions.

What Is The Best Pressure Fermenter?

Operator error more likely. Any independent background info available on what exactly happened?

I don't think the practice survived long after military conscription ended here in the early '70s. The whole point of it (for us boys anyway) was to prepare us for army discipline and fighting in Vietnam. So the drum beats and also marching around to Elgar's Pomp & Circumstance playing over the...

    What are you listening to

Neil Finn and Nick Seymour from Crowded House talking about their songs and how they came into being. Always fascinated by how the words and music are created, although some of this conversation goes beyond my understanding of music (I wish I had studied music theory in high school. But back...
