    I just made a 2L starter the first time, that put about 200ml in a couple of bottles. Next time, I just made a starter from one of the bottles. just pitchted my 3rd generation, but don't think I will take it any further.

    Do you guys find yeast nutrients have that big an impact? I've found making up a good litre plus yeast starter gets things going and ferments out pretty well.

    Does anyone know where to get flaked wheat from in Sydney? I've had a look at a few places without much luck. The closest thing I've found in cracked wheat, but I'm not sure if it would be as good. Thanks, Wreck.

    Food grade plastic is HDPE (High Density Polyethylene). Less chance for contaminants from the plastic leeching into your brew. On plastic containers, the symbol is a 2 in a triangle, I think.

    Thanks Snow. Pretty happy with the White Labs, tastes good, just not as clear as I thought it would be. I'll see how it goes after a bit longer in secondary. Got another three in the fridge propagated from the original, so plenty more experimenting to do.

    I used Hallertau & Saaz. I'm going through a bit of an experimental stage at the moment, only just starting to play with different hops, so not really sure which ones do what. The dubbel was my first go at a partial mash. Probably a bit ambitious, but it's going ok so far.
