    A minimalist kegging system?

I just bought a role of 4mm line and used that for the gas and beer lines. You only need about 1.5m of it for the beer line to balance the system rather than the multi metres you need for 5mm or 6mm line. It's a pain in the neck getting it on the barbs but less meterage of line to mess with.

Mate - that thing looks like C3PO from Starwars! Next mod is to put a small engine in it and have it walk around on wheels.

    First time Stout - Choc-Mulberry Imperial/Double Stout

Patent malt is called 'patent' because the process of making black malt was invented by someone and he patented the process (and therefore the malt) and so it became known as black malt but also patent malt. That's when brewers in the UK started to move away from brown beers (porters) and into...

    Sanitisation & Sterilisation

I see the words sanitisation and sterilisation used interchangeably but they are not the same thing. We (as homebrewers) generally need only concern ourselves with sanitising equipment, not sterilising. StarSan for example is a sanitiser (not a steriliser) - hence the name Star - SAN. Not Star -...

    No Chill - astringency help

Ah, that's good to hear. Maybe it's the dry hop in suspension. I've already started the cold crash and will rack the beer out of the cube and see how it is from there. Never had this before though so it's new to me. Having said that I do normally dry hop in a bag.

    No Chill - astringency help

Hi no-chillers I've brewed many times before but never done no chill. I bought a cube the other week and 9 days ago I did an Amber Ale with no chill for the first time. The recipe required some 5 min hop additions so because of no chill I decided to hold them off and just throw them into the...

Best and simplest way to get my kegged beer into a few bottles

I don't want to use PET because the purpose of me taking travellers is after my weekly soccer game the 7 of us share a bottle each of my beer. I can't hand out PET bottles for this and I don't want to bring along 7 glasses for pouring hence my need for glass. I'll buy one of those beer guns.

Best and simplest way to get my kegged beer into a few bottles

So I've tried it with the bit of tubing in the pluto gun and it didn't work for me, I lost too much carbonation. So would the beer gun shown in the link work any better? It's not for long term storage, just for drinking within 24 hours. Just want to more whether it would work without me having...

Best and simplest way to get my kegged beer into a few bottles

I mean this... https://www.kegland.com.au/bottle-filler-beer-gun.html I'd want to be filling glass bottles ideally. I did it this morning using a pluto gun with a bit of tubing that went into the glass. Didn't work for me.

Best and simplest way to get my kegged beer into a few bottles

Hi Just recently moved away from natural carbonation into kegs. I'm off to a bbq this afternoon and thought I'd transfer some of the beer into 330ml bottles to take along. I don't have a beer gun or counter pressure filler and so I just hooked up some 4mm tube and filled the bottles that way...

    Hello from Melbourne

Hi. I started out all-grain brewing on a small BIAB setup doing it on my stovetop. It was a good way for me to be sure I wanted to do it without initially shelling out much cash. It's easily done. I used a 20L stockpot from Target or Kmart, bought a large BIAB grain bag from the local brew shop...
