KK - 'Fermentasaurus' conical PET fermenter

Does anyone else's pressure kit tube get real stinky? Done two brews in the snubnose so far and the tube is stained to hell and smells like beer no matter how much i clean it.

    GUTEN

I've resigned to the fact that i can't use the pump if i want to keep maximum crud out of the fermenter. Gravity out of the front tap it is... might look into putting a camlock on the tap and use an external pump for true whirlpool and assisted transfers. Brewing tomorrow evening with about...

From memory a couple of people got the robobrew false bottom and cut it to fit? I don't think there was anything better than that solution for a false bottom. WEAL did have an elaborate setup of helix coils which worked pretty well.

I believe this one... took me ages to find as it doesn't have Guten in the title... https://aussiehomebrewer.com/threads/keg-king-s-steel-uni-tank.100405/

    The NEIPA thread

That one looks great too, how did you find the Kveik? Guess i'll post the recipe i'm doing next: Target OG: 1.065 Target FG: 1.018 (but i assume it'll hit a few points lower) 24.6L batch size, expecting some heavy losses along the way due to the large amount of hops. Hoping to get 19L into the...

    The NEIPA thread

Harvesting appears to be a success... pending any accidental infection surprises. Gonna try and see if i can spin up a starter before Sunday, pray to the flocculant gods. If all goes to plan, then hopefully i can brew up my next NEIPA. Edit: I definitely need to work on my washing though...

Subscribing to this thread... this is the one thing that is holding me back from taking the plunge.

    KegLand Questions and Answers

Howdy Kegland How do you recommend taking temperature readings in your kegmenters? Is strapping a probe to the side sufficient, or can one install a thermowell without risking the ability to pressurise the vessel? Or... something else perhaps?

Damnnnn, look at that colour! What IBUs did the first one come in at?

Finally back on the brewing bike. My ESB has another week left in the fermenter, then it's a yeast wash (1318) and time for my next brew. Just picked this up in preparation (cheers Brewman).

    Keg King kegerator series 4

Has anyone used one of the waterproof covers from KK or KL for the s4 I figure i probably need one of those now to keep the dust off it in the shed. Looks easier to deal with than your standard tarp at least

    Keg King kegerator series 4

I'll have to give it a go and see what my mileage is then. More motivation to finally finish cleaning out the rest of the shed

    Keg King kegerator series 4

so by the sounds of all this i should just try and clean it before use, i'll let all the yeasty crap sit in the lines until then. I reckon i will hot perc it for a bit and then flush with sanitise and serve

    Keg King kegerator series 4

How does everyone go changing their lines? Do you basically have to disassemble the font? Or... is there a nice, easy and obvious method that i am missing here? Kicked my first keg a couple of weeks back and just left it hooked up. Now i see there is a bunch of crap sitting in there from the...

What are you brewing - 2019?

Right, here is what i brewed over this long weekend. Basically in the style of a ~strong~ bitter. Hoping to use it to try my hand at harvesting some yeast. 90% Maris Otter 7.7% Caramalt 55L 2.3% Caramalt 155L All EKG for the hops and London III for the yeast. Added a little gypsum to my mash...

    GUTEN

Now to figure out if i need anything else since i'm copping shipping. How have people found the jacket you can buy for the Guten? Whirlpool arm?

    2019 Hop Plantations

my Cascade, Chinook, Victoria and Red Earth are all up. Surprisingly the red earth was the first one to come up this year and that is historically the under-performer.

    GUTEN

brew day went relatively well, the human powered whirlpool worked decently, some stuff did make it into the fermenter but not as much as last time when i didn't whirlpool. That the nut on the back of the tap came loose when i was transferring to the fermenter so i had to hold it against the...

    GUTEN

Some musings. Hopefully back in action on the Guten this long weekend, been about three months and my last keg is almost kicked. Think i am gonna go simple this time and just carefully big spoon whirlpool it, once it is as far down as i can get it with the IC. Then gravity feed it out the front...

    Keg King kegerator series 4
