Got it sorted locally, lesson learnt. Didn’t think I was closing excessively, but I guess it didn’t strip for no reason.. Wasn’t looking for warranty necessarily just advice on repair.

Yeah, spoke to a cylinder place today. They will replace the valve and re fill the gas. It’s about the price of a new cylinder, which is more a comment on how cheap the cylinder is. If I got a new one then I wouldn’t know what to do with the old one! So a repair it is. Not great that the valve...

    KegLand Questions and Answers

@KegLand-com-au I bought a 2.6kg CO2 bottle about 2 years ago and when I closed the main valve (black knob) last night it felt like something sheared. Now the knob free spins. The nut that looks to hold the black knob spins with the knob. The gas bottle now can’t be opened. Is there a way to...

    KegLand Questions and Answers

The collection container would only replace the sight glass, and whilst it allows for a larger hop charge I don’t think the hops would drop out easily due to the sudden change in area. It also means the butterfly valve is between the PRV and the vessel. Something I would like to avoid. The...

    KegLand Questions and Answers

Unfortunately I don’t have enough height in my fermentation chamber for the sight glass to be on all the time. I also don’t like the idea of having a valve between the PRV and the vessel. Although it seems unlikely it is very possible for me to forget to open the butterfly valve and lead to a...

    KegLand Questions and Answers

OK so seeing as a commercial solution to this may be a while off (if ever), I'm going to look at making a prototype out of commercially available parts. It seems the best way is to get a 4" TC x 2" TC offset end cap reducer (here, shipping is a pain so would love if there was a more local...

I think it would be better to make a modified 4” TC lid with a 2” TC port and gas/liquid/PRV connections. It allows all users of the current kegmenter to upgrade without needing a new vessel.

Might be worth disassembling the disconnect and giving it a clean. There could be something stuck inside causing the turbulence. I believe there is a video on their website that shows how to disassemble. It’s super simple

    KegLand Questions and Answers

I just read through your other thread and it seems you’ve encountered the same issues I was mulling over, including the use of a tee before the valve for liquid out (and PRV when/if the valve is closed). I’d prefer not to drill into the kegmenter itself. There should also be a PRV in any...

That may be possible too, although I have heard you can now get boosters/repeaters that work with SS fermenters. The other issue depends on your setup. My kegmenter fits in a small fridge and would only be enough height to fit a valve. When ready for dry hopping I would take the fermenter out of...

You could either batch it, or could add a spool section to increase the hop drop volume.

    KegLand Questions and Answers

@KegLand-com-au - in the attempt to chase an efficient and quality method of oxygen free dry hopping, would you be able to make a new 4" pressure lid for the kegmenter? I envisage it to be as follows: The larger port would ideally be a 2" TC (a 1.5" TC may also work if dimensions are...

    KegLand Questions and Answers

It will make a difference if you use 4mm or 5mm, but you can adjust for that difference with the disconnect to get the right pour

    KegLand Questions and Answers

There isn’t really an optimal size/length as the resistance can be set at the disconnect. That being said you can get away with minimal length and have seen taps mounted directly to the disconnect with reasonable pours, although will take some sensitive adjustment on the disconnect dial. I just...

Might work but what set up would you need to go from the tee piece to the picnic tap? The picnic tap is barbed isn’t it?

    KegLand Questions and Answers

I’ve been looking at your valve/tee set up for dry hopping with the fermzilla all-rounder. I’ve always struggled with oxidation with dry hopped beers and think this would be a good way to minimise oxygen in the process. I don’t like the method of unscrewing the bottle to release pressure several...

The fridge is certainly value for money. There's no argument there. The noise just seems like such an obvious design flaw that should be improved.

The main source of noise on the Series 4 is definitely NOT the fan. The evaporator/refrigerant is very noisy. It cannot be put in a living area of the house it is so loud. I regret buying the Series 4 simply because it is too loud.

Not sure if this has been asked but how does the noise of the Series X fridge compare to the Series 4? The Series 4 is very loud and annoying.
