    Used grain for farmers.

That's sort of the point I was making , the more manky it is the better. Ruminants get the energy from the bacteria and fungus the more the better.

    Used grain for farmers.

I was talking to a farmer from out west NSW who says they are even using waste from lolly factories to feed their stock. Anything with energy in it . Spent grain is really useful not so much for any sugars that may be left but the rotting grain produces a massive biomass that ruminants can...

    BIAB Stainless Basket

I have one of these SS 400 micron baskets to sell. It has a 25 L Vol ie do 6 or 7 kg easy , probably up to 8 kg of grain. Fits in a 40 L urn. Asking $ 75 as it has been used but nothing wrong with it.

    BIAB Stainless Basket

First up , Thanks Hairydog. Yeah I've been through the process. I think there is a size limit to them in working to there best , the 40 urn is great. From reading, all these yeasts are actually blends of a number of strains . But they work in a symbiotic way, I don't know how yeast starters would work with this ? if they work out some sort of equilibrium ? Interesting. From what I've heard it can be polarizing ie some people love it and others wouldn't use it again. Be interested how you find it.

    Hop suppliers

They probably had such a small margin it wasn't worth the effort. When Barleyman closed up he crunched the numbers and worked out he hadn't made anything , pretty much came out even.

I know there is going to be a White Labs executive In Sydney in the coming days. Could be a good time to let them know what we think.

Has there ever been a White Labs bulk buy for Vault yeast ?

Why don't we use our bulk buying power to release some yeasts from the Vault ? I haven't bought direct from White Labs , for those that have , what do you think ? What are your thoughts ? Even if a supplier took a cut it would be worth it to have some released that we don't see in Australia.
